We are pretty much the first to get married amongst our friends and families. We are the eldest in our families AND most of our friends aren't married yet, let alone have children.
No one in our immediate lives has young children.
Do you think we should 'recruit' friends' nieces/nephews for our ceremony or just not have them in the wedding?
I like the idea of having an adult only wedding but am disappointed that we won't have an adorable flower girl.

We didn't have a flower girl or ring bearer either. Frankly we did not miss it, and it made the picture taking go much smoother since there were no children to worry about.

My 2 sisters who got married before me didn't have any FGs or RB. I asked my cousin who has 2 girls- I'm sure you can ask anyone you feel close to!

Guys....I think you just convinced me to NOT have a ringbearer. I was planning on asking one of my friends to have his son be the ringbearer, but I think now I will desist.
I will still have a FG.

I am not having a RB or FG either. I kind of wish I did, but it just won't mean as much if I just take my friends' kids who I don't really know that much about. I am just going to deal without having them.

We don't either but I have been thinking about it a lot lately. I do have my god son but he will only be 1 1/2 by the time we get married.

We aren't having a flower girl or ring bearer. I was upset at first but now it doesn't bother me. I decided to have 2 Jr. Bridesmaids to make up for it

I don't think it's necessary to have one or any. I've been to many without. Do what you think is best. If you choose to have one youwill need to invite them to the wedding recep. right?
not sure what we are going to do yet. I have 2 younger boy cousins that I could use as a ring bearer and FH has a half sister we could use as a flower girl. but we still have time for that

Don't worry about not having them. We chose the only 3 that were young enough to do so. They didn't even want to come down the aisle. (We knew that was possible, so we didn't really care that they gave problems because they were young. We thought it might be comedy relief before I came down, and it was.) I loved having them, because they were close family, but it wasn't necessary.
Here's a pic of my FG (my neice) when my mom went back up the aisle to get her and tried showing her what to do with the flower petals:
