We didn't do anything 'instead of' the tosses, we just didn't do them.

We're not doing them either...I wanted to do the bo-k toss but then I realized we don't have too many single ladies coming, and I didn't want to do the garter toss.....I will probably do the anniversary dance.

Re: No Garter or Bok toss????
We did a special dance for my Grandmother that turned 100 last NOV. All the men in the family twirled her around the dance floor. It was actually a very touching dance!! Is there someone in your family that has a big milestone that you can celebrate?

We are going to do an anniversary dance and give the bouquet to the couple that has been together the longest along with a bottle of champagne or something.
It is a nice touch and includes more people than the toss. We will dance with the couples but only for a short while....they'll say something like, couples who have been married for less than 5 hours or something and then we sit.

I like you idea also, give a gift or something with the dance. That is a nice touch!!

i'm just giving mine to my mom. i'm not too keen on people killing each other for flowers or men scrambling after something that is essentially a piece of my underwear.

I have always hated going up for the bok toss. It is always like me and 5 other girls. I always go up cause I feel bad

that's what we did. the couple married the longest got my bouquet (or rather another small bo-k... i wasn't giving mine up!)
And yes, the newlyweds dance this one...but you'll be the first one off the floor!

Does the bride and groom dance along with others for the anniversary dance?
No, you basically would watch.
You have all the married couples (you can do all couples if you want) come up and dance, and then they count down years.....people who are married less then 1 year sit, 5 years, 10 years and so on until the last couple standing has been together the longest amount of years-then you would give them the bok & garter if you wish, a friend of mine gave them her bok and a gift-I think it was a frame

Re: No Garter or Bok toss????
I think we'll do the anniversary dance as we have a lot of married couples and a lot of people married a long time. So I think it'll be special that way.
