No LUCK!!!!!!

Ok. I have no dental insurance but will go under FHs when we get married (5 mos) so OF COURSE on Saturday my tooth started to hurt. Then SUnday it hurt more and yesterday I wanted to kill myslef b/c of the pain!!

I go to the dentist yesterday and she tells me I have an abcess UNDER an old root canal (that some jerk did a terrible job on). ANYWAY this morning I go to the specialist and THANK GOD they fit me in this afternoon at 1pm (one more day of this pain and I would have died).

Well needless to say this will cost approx $1300 THEN I have to go back to the regular dentist for the post, crown...all that fun stuff - which should be about another $1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am flying to California tomorrow so I guess I am lucky it didn't happen there AND I'm lucky it didn't happen right before the wedding BUT WHY couldn't it happen NEXT YEAR

MORAL OF THE STORY.....If you have dental insurance don't neglect your teeth b/c it is PAINFUL!!!! I will be going to the dentist every 6 mos when I have ins (with a smile on)!!!!

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that! And you have inspired me to face my fears and make an appointment. We are lucky because we live in MA, and as long as FH lives with me, he can be on my policy. But I am so sorry for you! But the painfree-ness is worth every cent, so don't worry!
Hey, maybe you'll win the lotto or something

OMG! Beth. I am the Queen of teeth pain. It is absolutely awful!!
I hope you feel better

P.S. You should ask the dentist to give you a prescription for Vicaden or something like that in case the pain starts in CA.

Thanks girls I just can't wait to go and get it over with! It really is worth every cent!

She is giving me tylenol with coedine but she thinks it will be fine once she does the procedure

Ok, good. I'm sure you'll be fine after the procedure, but ya never know. You don't want to be in CA in pain.

Have fun in CA. Take lots of pics

Re: No LUCK!!!!!!

I know how you feel. I went through the exact same thing last year at this time, about 6 weeks before my wedding.

I ended up having root canal (not once but twice because they didn't get all the roots out in the first appt!) and then having to do a post and a crown. But first they had to do a crown lenthening procedure (surgical removal of gum tissue surrounding the tooth to fit the cap on). OMG - that made the root canal feel like a vacation. I have dental insurance and it still set me back more than $1500 out of pocket!!

Your teeth are something to take care of. I guess I am glad it happenined when it did and not on my honeymoon!

P.S. I see you are getting married in St. Ray's. I grew up in E Rock and went to school there :) Did you go there?
