Yesterday I had an appt with Sir Oliver limos. I told the girl when I made the appt that I can't make it any earlier than 6 since I get out of work at 5:15. She said fine, we'll have someone wait for you.
I must have missed the part where she said to call to make sure they would stay around (I don't recall this being said!) but we raced there after work to find the doors closed!!
So now I think, ok no biggie, I have another appt today with Signature Florist, and that should be okay. So now another 6:00 appt, we get there and it turns out George, who I had the appt with, his car broke down and he was waiting on a tow truck!!! The girl there said her husband was there to pick her up so she couldn't show me anything. I rescheduled for next week.
Granted, neither occasion was anyone's fault, but it's still frustrating to go running around to appts 2 days in a row and accomplish nothing!!

I hear ya! But you're doing the right thing by seeing different people and not booking with just anyone that sounds good.

I find this whole process draining but necessary. I've met with a couple that I thought would be perfect, only to find that they just weren't for me. But one meeting with a vendor and I'm shot.

This is why I am the queen of research. I would rather limit the number of appts I have to go on.
I didn't do this with my catering hall until the second weekend we went looking. We saw about 10 different halls!! Had I done my research, that number would have been a lot lower!!

IF it makes you feel better..I am having a chaotic week too. I am not big into astrology...but whenever mercury is in retrograde things gett hairy. Please do not think I am crazy...it is actually pretty interesting...check it out:
I believe it.....I'm a Gemini and Mercury is my ruling planet.....no wonder things are going haywire!!! And to think my computer was crashing a lot this week!!!
That and I told my FH that if I can make it through tomorrow without getting fired at work, then hopefully everything will be okay!! Now with this happening, I gotta worry!!

Don't worry..it will be fine..retrograde ends on the 15th..you should read up on it it's sooooo interesting... and believe me for me to say this is big..i don't even read the horoscopes!!

Smart move! I compared prices first from one 'popular' vendor to another...and then met with them to put deposits down.
There are other limo companies cheaper than Sir Oliver...

I would be annoyed if I had appts and they both never happened. Especially rushing there after a long day at work.
I am big on research too. I always research potential places I am interested in and then make appts. That's definitely the way to go IMO.
I hope your appts are better next week.

The funny thing is, I'm also trying to take location into consideration. If they're near the catering hall, then I don't have to worry about them arriving late or getting stuck in traffic on the LIE and stuff like that.
FH doesn't understand this, and just complains about the driving from Suffolk.
For the limos, we don't need much, I'm getting ready at the Wingate Inn, FH is getting ready at JT, then we're taking pics in Roslyn at Gerry Park, and then it's back to JT.
For the florist, I know what I want, it's mainly roses with a few orchids here and there, so hopefully it won't cost much!!

I take location into consideration too.
Not only for the vendors being on time but for me having to make deposits and for making an appt. I try not to make appts in nass being I live in Suff. I know it probably sounds funny, but it has worked so far.
My FH doesn't understand either. He just complains!!!!!!!!

That stinks that you didn't get to meet with either vendor. I hope it goes better next week. Just think, it gives you more time to find pics of cps you like!
