I am so sorry!!! Try not to be upset if you can. First of all, you KNOW that most people wait until the absolute last minute to send those things in. Second, you still have over 100 responses to come back to you. What is your minimum? Is there no chance you'll make it??
As for those people who's weddings you have attended, that is very unfortunate that they did not see fit to respond in kind. The only thing I will say in their defense is that it is an extremely bad economic environment out there, and if they or their spouses have lost their jobs, then I understand. However, I know that even when the economy has been GOOD, it hasn't always necessarily been good for ME at times, and if I was invited to a wedding for a friend during those times, I would go without so I could make sure to take care of their gifts and attend the wedding. Also worth mentioning, though, is that during those times, I had only myself to worry about- no spouse or kids. If I went without, no big deal. If I had kids, that might be a different story entirely.
There was one time when I declined a wedding invitation because I had just moved and had NOTHING, but that was it.
It's sad but true, that at times like these, you find out who your friends really are. But at the same time, keep in mind that perhaps some of these people are really in dire financial straits right now, and just aren't telling anyone about it. And it's hard to confront someone about that sort of thing, because oftentimes, there are so many things going on in other people's lives that we just can't know about. Unfortunately, I think the economy will hit all of us '09 brides in one way or the other.
I'm so sorry you're going through this- please keep us updated, and if there's anyway I can help, please let me know. I'm hoping for 100 yesses!!!

Awwww! Dont get upset yet. You still have 2 weeks. People are super busy during the holidays and probably just forget. And even if you only have a small amount of people at your wedding its going to be beautiful and you will still have an amazing time!!!!!!!

Re: No responses...
you still have time, we got a lot of responses at the end - both yes and no responses.....people are weird....we had a lot of people that i EXPECTED to be there not attend - a friend who's wedding we went to and gave $$$, an old co-worker/friend couldn't come b/c they had a destination wedding the same date as ours and DH's uncle/godfather didn't attend b/c he booked a vacation to Hawaii by accident (we sent him a STD, but he is old and forgot) and he didn't want to lose money by cancelling so instead he missed our wedding and went on his trip some family drama over that one! hahahahaha and of course there were other people who didn't even give a reason or send a card or anything.....but trust me, we didn't miss ANY of those people on our wedding day.....don't let that stuff consume you, or make you upset....i worried until the end if our room would look to empty, kept second guessing myself wondering if we should have invited more people (at the last minute we cut our list in half ) i wondered why certain people declined or why my DH's uncle wasn't re-scheduling his trip - but that day i could care less so its not worth it, it will be great no matter what!

Re: No responses...
Don't worry about it. People always wait till the last min to send back responses. And some never send them back and you have to start with the phone calls. Don't worry. What alot of 08 girls did was they made a LIW table and girls from here went so they could make there min. So if it comes down to it. You can do that. Don't stress over it!

Re: No responses...
Don't stress, my RSVP date was last Monday and we're still waiting for about 75 responses!! It is the holidays and people do forget. And both FH and I have immediate family members who have not responded, very rude but that's just how they are. We're going to start calling people this week.

Re: No responses...
I also want to add that there are many people who probably just 'assume' you know they are coming. We have some friends who have acknowledged getting our invite but no RSVP yet, and we probably won't get one without calling them repeatedly.

Re: No responses...
i felt exactly like you halfway between when we sent out the invites and the response due date. i thought we weren't going to make our min either! but we did and are over! our due date was dec 12 and we still had many reponses trickle in last week. we are STILL missing some and will be calling those people this week.
2 weeks is still a lot of time - it'll all work out!!

Re: No responses...
As hard as it is not to, and I know I'd be flipping too, don't stress just yet. I'm sure after Christmas you'll get majority of the missing. The holidays mess people up. I'm guilty as charged, I have a shower that I need to RSVP to by Sat, and will probably do so on Sat. If by New Years you dont get one single RSVP more...then I would start calling.

It's so annnoying when people don't respond. I cannot believe how many said no. It really got me thinking ! I am really sorry but don't worry, you'll have an amazing day regardless of who shows up. Everyone who really matters will be there!

I'm sure with the holiday mayhem it's slipped people's minds. Give it another week and then start calling people live.

Re: No responses...
Don't stress yourself out so much! Alot of times people receive the invites and put it off from sending the responses back. I don't understand how hard it is just to mail something back especially if you included postage for them. Wait another week and then start making some phone calls.

Awww hun. I really think it has to do with the holidays. And most people are forgetful. 2 weeks is still plenty of time. I would have your Mom call your family and his Mom call his family if the responses don't pour in a week before the due date.
