FH and I had a talk last night and he was feaking out over how much we're spending for 1 day. we're trying to save for a house, and in his opinion, every dollar we spend on this wedding is taking away from our future.

I guess he has a point. But I am still sad.... no videographer, ketubah or extras for me.

Definetely asks a friend to do it or ck out craigslist - some videographers will do it for peanuts, just to get the experience.

As far as the video, can you have a friend make an amateur video with a camcorder?

Maybe you can get someone who is going to school for videography to tape your wedding for cheap..... Or even just someone you know you has a video camera. I know it's upsetting now, but when you are living in your new, beautiful house, you will know that you made the right decision to save money.

It is crazy to spend so much, but don't worry. Only you will know about those little extra's. You wedding will still be beautiful & memorable.

But please, please reconsider video. If only to show your future children...you can have somehting for free (relative or friend recording) or under $500 (check out Craiglist, or FM DJPill - he used someone last minute and was very happy).

Please don't forgo video. We spend a fortune on this one day and those few hours...the nly thing left at the end of hte day are our photos and video. Dn't you want to see yourself walking down the aisle? Taking your vows? Trust me Dina, it flies by and it's all a happy blur...please re-consider!

I don't know your situation, but I have to say video was very important to us. I really like the fact that you can look back and see everyone enjoying themselves, especially people like grandparents.. I know I will go back and watch it in the future.

My FH says the same excact thing we are not having a videoagrapher either. A family member is going to tape everything for us.

He's not thinking straight...no one does when this close to the wedding. He's thinking dollars and cents and maybe he has a missconception and hates obnoxious videogrpahers with lights in your face...they're not like that! Tell him to think long term girl!

as for ketubahs contact your rabbi and explain that there is no $ in the budget and see what he can do. You never know....also they have plain ketubahs - while not decorated they are still available and free.

ah -- call a reform or reconstructionist rabbi - and see if they have any - it prob would be the version in hebrew with the lieberman clause but it never hurts to ask if they have a different version.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! he will get even more pissed off. he already complains to me that I take LIW brides opinions more seriously than his. (which I probably do)
