Non-Denominational Churches??

Hello everyone,
First of all i am new here, and i am very excited that i found this board. I look forward to contributing alot. I don't know if this should go in the vendor section or not, but i am sure someone will correct me.

I am looking for a church to have my ceremony in. I cannot get married in a catholic church b/c i was never baptized. I am religious but i am not a church goer. Therefore i do not know of any churches in my area that will marry us. My fiance WAS baptized and has all the paperwork for that, i still dont know if that makes a difference.

Does anyone know of any in the East Elmhurst area or any parts of Queens closer to Dante's Catering. (That is where the reception will be). I basically want a church just for the setting and pictures. I dont need it for religious reasons.

Thank you for your help , and again, i apologize if this is in the wrong section.

Try the Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing - they have a new ceremony site.

I know that there are a few in Nassau. The Historical Church, the chapel at the Merchant Marine Academy, and the chapel at CW Post University.

Can you have the ceremony at your RH?

Hello and welcome!!!

I don't know that area but I did go to CW Post and the chapel is really nice. Also the campus is beautiful. Great Photo ops!

You can always try a Lutheran Church, they are not as strict as Catholic.
Augustana Lutheran Church is on Hazen Street and Ditmars Blvd in East Elmhurst, about 10 minutes drive from Dante's. There is also Grace Lutheran on 31st street and 21st Avenue in Astoria, Trinity Lutheran on I believe 31st Avenue in Astoria
Steinway Reformed is on Ditmars Blvd and 41st Street.

Thank you for your help! I did look into C.W. Post but they want WAYYYY too much money. I am prepared to spend about 600 for the cermony, not 1,000 or more. I will look into the other options posted. Thank you again!

I'm getting married at the Community Church of E. Williston. I would check them out if I were you. Also the unitarian church.

There is a church in the Gardens at Forest Hills in Queens. I'm not sure if they're non-denominational...but I hear it's beautiful inside.

there's a bunch of lutheran churches in the forest hills area.... they're usually good about marrying couples in various situations..good luck!
