I asked for the kindle for christmas. I heard the kindle is easier on the eyes. The nook comes in pretty colors and has a color screen. I personally don't care about that because I will only be downloading books, not magazines.

Re: nook/kindle
Everytime someone asks this, I say the same thing...I LOVE my Nook...but it's SO comparable to the Kindle...that as of right now I don't think it makes a difference. The Nook had the lend feature, and a color touch screen...but touch screens can be touchy..something you dont have to worry about with the Kindle. It really depends on what you like. I think I would prob be just as happy with a Kindle as I am with my Nook.

Re: nook/kindle
nook!! i am waiting on mine to arrive (I got the old school one, not the new color one, because of the e-ink screen). I like it because if you know people with a nook you can connect with them and 'lend' each other books. Also, you can borrow books from the library on a nook.

Ohh I just posted the same thing.. wish I saw this before lol
FH is buying me one for xmas and I'm leaning towards the new nook color
someone told me the library-sharing (Free books from your library) isn't available on the kindle.

Re: nook/kindle
My thinking with the nook color is if I wanted something with full internet, I would just get an ipad. The color nook doesn't have the special e-ink scream - it just looks like a computer screen, which will probably make your eyes more tired after a while.

Re: nook/kindle
I just posted this on JessNicole's post, but I will put it here too!
I have a Nook. I like that it does not have a keyboard, so as the software is updated, the buttons can change, etc.
I also like the lend feature. And the 3G access.
However, if you travel internationally often, the global Kindle might be better for you.
For me, when I travel outside of the country, I just load a bunch of books ahead of time.
Edit:
If there is something wrong with my Nook, I like that I just have to go to B&N and they will fix it. I got mine last spring about 3 weeks before the price drop, and I took it in and they gave it to me anyway. There is something about having a brick and mortar store that can help me if I need it
