I'm not thrilled with the wedding cakes they provide (no offense to anyone)
I was thinking of buying my own and seeing if they would throw in something else instead.
Do you think they'll go for it? What should I ask for? How much are cakes and where should I look?
Anyone else thinking about this?

Re: North ritz club brides
there has been several threads on this very topic. I for one, do not want the extra expense of a cake. So, based on the pics I have seen of them here on this board, Im going to ask them to tier the cake. I like stacked cakes better, but theirs look a little messy, (thats not really the word im looking for). Im also going to ask them to make the icing a little more flat, spread thinner,, not so fluffy. I dont know if this is helping you at all.

I have the same issues with the cake! FH and I havent decided on whether we are getting teh cake from somewhere else - money at the end will dictate that - Although am470 - that is a good idea - I hope they do that!

I am getting my cake elsewhere. I gave my parents a list of bakeries and they are going to find me a cake since I am not in NY.

Re: North ritz club brides
here is a picture my cake from the North Ritz..everyone loved the way it tasted. (whipped cream, yellow cake and chocolate mousse) I wasn't too crazy about the cake itself but so many people commented on it. I didn't really care about the cake aspect of the day. People don't really pay attention anyway to the cake and cutting part of the party anyway so we didn't feel it was worth the extra expense. The cake was decorated by Jack and Rose.
The Milleridge Inn Bakery in Jericho makes amazing wedding cakes, and it is very close to the NRC.

Re: North ritz club brides
Hi everyone - I am a new NRC bride (my date is not until 11/25/05)! I was just wondering about the Viennese hour... If there have been some issues in the past with the NRC cakes, do the same problems hold true for the Viennese desserts / displays?
Thanks!

Re: North ritz club brides
I went to a NRC wedding a couple of months ago and I don't mean to offend anyone, but I was not at all impressed with their Viennese hour. This really made we worried since we have the Viennese hour included too. I am really considering not having one now. The presentation was really lacking and compared to some other Viennese hours I have seen, I was not impressed at all. I don't mean to 'scare' anyone but this is just my honest opinion.

Yikes! I'm having the touch of viennese, I hope it's ok.
I was wondering how they do the irish coffee and cordials...is there a rolling bar that comes around?

i think there is a problem with the way they decorate the cake, not the way it tastes.

Re: North ritz club brides
Just wondering if any of you NRC brides have spoken to them about getting the cake elsewhere and what they would throw in instead of the cake (if anything). I know I have a lot of time to think about this, but I am procrastinating (as usual) and was just wondering if any of you had already spoken to the NRC about it.
Also, I was considering renting the 'chocolate fountain' that everyone is talking about lately. Do you think the NRC would allow me to do this through an outside vendor?
