I just came back from showing the place to my mom. SHE LOVED IT! I fell in love all over again too. The back has been replanted and is growing in nicely. It was set up for a bar mitzfah (spelling?) and it looked gorgeous. The back is even more beautiful in the sunshine when it's in bloom. We booked at night in the winter and there is just no comparison as to how nice it looks now. The furniture in the back is very interesting. It appears to be cast iron. It is very classy, however, it is plastic. It is a copper color. Iris says that cast iron gets hot in the sun and the plastic is more comfortable. It is heavy duty and I would not be worried about it. They also have 2 new stationary bars outside. They are a dusty rose colored marble. They look great. They have removed some of the trees from the back, I assume to get ready to build the fence. Jericho is now even more noticeable, which is a bad thing. They are still, 'waiting for the permit' which is what Iris told me when I asked when they would continue working on it. Sounds like they aren't sure when they'll be able to build, but since they removed the trees etc...I'm ASSUMING it must be soon. All in all girls, I think we are in good hands and I feel very positive. I am setting up a tasting for 2 weeks from now. Sorry I babbled for so long!

What is taking so long for that permit?! Great to hear about the 2 new bars! Thanks for posting! Does anyone know if the NRC provides table numbers or do we bring our own? I know they give us the place cards if we want. Thanks!

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
This whole fence thing is making me very nervous! Why on earth is it taking so long? How many trees were removed? The idea of Jericho Tpke. being in plain sight is NOT GOOD! I hope to see some progress soon. Okay, I know, I may be getting paranoid being that my wedding is not until 2004, but when I booked last December they told me that the fence would be up way before the summer began!!!!!!

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
Maybe if we all call and ask them questions about the fence, they will realize that they need to do something about it soon!!!
I was told they are waiting for the fence to be delivered, i was not told anything about a permit!

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
I am not positive about what the frames look like...I am thinking that they were like either dark wood, or some sort of darker brown metal...But I will let you know for sure after I go there - I will make sure to look!

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
I don't know if they use the same frames/numbers for every occasion, but the ones on the tables yesterday were ivory paper ina small (5x7 maybe?) brown wood frame. It wasn't a cheap looking frame. Ok picture yourself having just walked out of the cocktail room door. You are looking directly at the fountain and the gazebo is to your left. The trees that were removed are the bamboo ones that were in the upper left hand corner, behind the lake, where the fence stops. My mom thinks that I'm crazy that I'm worried about this stupid fence, but I keep telling myself that if they removed the trees, the fence MUST be getting done soon, right? Why else would they remove the trees now???

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
Thanks for the info on the table numbers. I am getting a little disturbed by this fence. Ida told me back in March/beg. April that they were expecting the permit by the end of the month. Why are they telling us different stories?! I am just praying it is up by Oct.

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
To be honest with you, I got the impression that they didn't know themselves when it was going to happen. It seemed like a very practiced answer 'We're waiting for a permit.' I will say though, when we booked, Ida told me the same thing, so it's not like her story has changed at all. Anyway, fingers crossed - it'll be soon. If it isn't up by my wedding day I am going to have a fit and I'll be REALLY mad - if there is no fence they better shave off a few dollars or throw in some extra stuff

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
I went there today and saw the two new bars outside. I must say I was very impressed. they are both marble and very pretty. I did not notice a difference in the trees at all. I still saw the bamboo trees....too bad they did not grow in yet!!! I was pleased with the place and how it looked. I did not talk to anyone about the fence....

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
Junebride04 - my wedding is June 25 2004 so I know I have nothing to panic over (yet)
Groovy peg, I called before i went, because I wanted to make sure we could see the rooms. They told us the best times to come (right before or right after a function).

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
missmmpr, did you talk to anyone when you were there? It's funny that you say you didn't notice the trees, because i didn't either, until Ida said something about it. I was too busy loving the rest of the place

Re: North Ritz Club Brides
I will be heading over there his weekend to pick some stuff up and check the place out. Whe i first heard about this fence thing a few weeks ago I was PISSED!!!! I will be sure to ask yet again...and let you all know what they say. If it is not up, they better throw some other stuff in or shave off some $$$$ like someone else said...
