Nosey relatives - how do you handle?

My VERY nosey Uncle found out that I will be moving in with my fiance one month before the wedding since that is when my lease is up. I have nowhere else to go and it makes no sense for me to stay in a hotel or with a friend for ONE MONTH.

He asks me in front of the entire family why I'm moving in with him. I told him. I don't care what he thinks honestly but I do care how it makes my mom feel. She is very traditional and in indian culture, you just don't do stuff like this. You move in only after marriage. She understands my circumstances and agrees it makes sense to move in once my lease expires, but she wanted it kept quiet due to the taboo factor.

When my Uncle and other relatives do stuff like this, it really hurts my mom. How do I handle this?

Good idea. I doubt it would do anything since the elder people in my family have no interest in what us 'kids' say but it's worth a try!
