I don't know why we picked the minimum we did. Right now, if nobody says no we will be right there and I have 80 more people left to RSVP. Have you discussed what happens if you fall short? Will your RH do anything to reallocate that money like throw in a station or something?

I think generally they will work with you. My place actually lowered my minimum by 10 after I had signed the contract when I said I was concerned.
I think a lot of the time they will add in a station or do something. So if you're 15 people short at $100 pp, let you add something worth $1500 instead of just making you pay for empty seats

Sometimes they will let you pay for your vendors full price to meet the minimum. I think some girls have gotten like a chocolate fountain

Yea. I'm getting concerned about my minimum too. I have a 175 minimum and was orginally inviting like 252 people. Now i'm only inviting 212...so i'm a little concerned.
What is your minimum?

Generally, the RH should work with you, in the case that you fail to meet your minimum.
What I've heard they do is either give you the option of more time at the RH, upgrades in the food, or something like that...
Either way, I think you should be able to work it out with them. My girlfriend has a 125 min and she ended up with 100 and she got both food upgrades and a extra hour at the RH.

If the RH doesn't help you....you should open it up to fellow LIW brides who may want to come to your wedding. I saw it in some posts when I first was on this site where brides were inviting other brides to make their minimum.

I didn't fall short... but I had a bunch of people (with legitimate reasons - nothing I could get mad at). that cancelled the week prior.
RH did nothing.
we just had to eat the cost...
in the long run, we are not unhappy - we were at first, but after the wedding, nothing could bring us down.
If you need two 'seat fillers' my DH and I would be more than happy to come to your wedding and give a gift.
LOL we have the wedding fever, we love weddings!!!
FH me if you want to discuss what happened with the RH and anything else.
