Not having an E-party???

Not having an E-party???

Am I the only one not having an E-party???

FH and I decided that there were other things we'd like to save for (house and the wedding). With FH and I being in VA, my parents on LI and his parents in CT, it would be a mess to get everyone together. Although I don't mind not having one, it would be nice to be greedy and get some presents.

I am not having one either. I find them unnecessary.

FH and I think it's enough to ask of people to come to a bridal shower and wedding....we didn't want to have one because we think of it as asking for $. Juat a personal preference. Years ago everyone had one, it's less and less common now.

i am not having one... our families know eachother, my family is paying for most of wedding, his family is paying for a lot too and we have to save for a house...and honeymoon...we figure whoever wants to give us a present will and to my surprise we have recieved many! I did want one to be honest and was sad to not have one, but after a lot of thought i realized that in the end it is not important at this time and a home would be ideal...so youre not alone

PS. most of my immediate family gave us gifts anyway, those who are most important usually do whether you have a E-party or not.

I'm not having one! We went out to dinner with both sets of our parents after we got engaged and that was our celebration.

We didnt have an e-party because we didnt want to have a 'mini wedding' before the big SHABANG!! and we didnt want people to feel obligated to get us gifts when we all know that showers and actual wedding gifts are expensive. Instead, we had an e-dinner where we had our parents, siblings, and god parents come over at my FI's house for a dinner. First time they were all in the same room together for meal!!! It was a very nice evening!!!

we're not having one either, my parents live in florida and the rest of my family is in minnesota, and we want to save our money for other things like you as well.

We didn't really have one either. My FI parents were having a barbecue so they sort of incorporated our engagement into that. They had a nice sheet cake for us and every one came with presents...but it wasn't necessarily a huge all out party. This was just as nice...we all had a good time!!

We are not having one either. We want to save for the wedding, a house etc.. Also honestly I don't think I could plan an engagement party. I'm already stressed with wedding plans.

We're not having one. My mom had my immediate family over for a 'fancy dinner' on the 'good china' with champagne and cake and everyting. That was perfect for us!

We might not be having one. If we do, it's going to be really informal. We love to bbq and figured that we could just have family and friends over for a very simple barbecue.

We aren't having one...We wanted to put all the $$ into the wedding & purchasing a home...We are going to have a BBQ this summer with the entire bridal party but that is about it!
