Not Having Bridesmaids?

Not Having Bridesmaids?

Hi, girls! I need your help...One of my best friends from college is getting married next year, and she's not having bridesmaids, but I feel like someone should still throw her a bachelorette party and a bridal shower. Her mom is not involved in her life, so it's up to her friends. The thing is, she has a lot of good friends from various stages (like high school and grad school), and I don't know them that well and some I haven't even met. How do you suggest I handle the planning and splitting the cost between all these different groups of people? THANK YOU!!!!

You might need to have your friend somewhat involved. Tell her youd l;ike to organize some 'wedding events' for her and would need a list of people she feels close to and ask for names, addresses, emails, phone numbers. Dont worry about having her know...its not a big deal

I think it would be wonderful if you did that for her. Maybe you can talk to her FH to get the other girls contact info, etc. I would just contact them and see if the would be interested in going in on it.

Good luck!

Looks like you may end up being a honorary MOH

I'm not having bridesmaids either, so it's a really nice gesture on the part of my friends to host a girls weekend. It's not a surprise or anything.... My friends asked me what weekend was good for me and planned accordingly. They asked me who I wanted to invite, as I also have a lot of friends from different 'areas' of my life, as well as spread out across the country.

The 'party' hasn't taken place yet, but it's going to be pretty casual. They sent out an evite w/ the details. It's basically going to be a get together w/ my closest friends in the area. I'm looking forward to it! I think you should try to do the same for your friend - time allowing, of course.

Thanks, girls!! Yeah, I think I'm going to have to get her involved. It would've been fun to have it be a surprise, but at least even if the date isn't a surprise, we can still keep the details secret.
