We're about 8 guests short of our minimum with only 2 weeks to go. I have already accounted for the vendors. I'm annoyed because we've had people call us and cancel, many people said they were definitely bringing dates and now aren't and there's still some who haven't even responded (even with follow up calls). I've called our hall and they said we still have to pay. I would understand if we were 20 or 30 people short. Do all halls do this?

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
Isn't there anyone you can invite last minute - like neighbors, people at work, people that were on a 'B' list? I would NOT want to pay for like $1000 for people that weren't there.

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
We sent B and C list invites. Part of the problem is the wedding is the Friday night of memorial weekend so the secondary invitees had already made plans. We already invited people from work. If the singles just brought dates we would be over the minimum! Believe me I don't want the 'dinners' to go to waste.

Re: Not Meeting Minimum
I agree with the others ... give them a call & tell them that you know you'll be under the minimum #. figure out what the dollar amount is & convert it into extras.
Maybe you can get vienese hour, or an additional station during cocktails, or an additional hour thrown on to the reception. There are lots of ways to get your money's worth. If there is a restaurant, then maybe they can give you a free dinner for you & hubby after the HM.
Talk to them about the options. If you have to spend the money, then at least get something good for it!
