Re: not to be nosey but....
Mine is $650 (excluding alterations). I love it, I looked at more expensive ones, and truly I liked this so much, I didn't look at the price until the end

Mine was $500-(without alterations.) I fell in love with it when I saw it in a magazine. I went to the store and tried it on and that was it.

Re: not to be nosey but....
Mine was $1000, before alterations. My budget was $2000, maximum, so I never tried on any dresses that were more than that.

Re: not to be nosey but....
My dress was $540 without alterations. Alterations cost about $110 more so total it was like $650. I got mine at David's Bridal in Norther Virgina where my parents live. I know you guys are always knocking Davids Bridal on this site but they have some very nice dresses for very reasonable prices. Everyone at my wedding was saying what a beautiful dress I had on. Little did they know how much I really paid for it!

Re: not to be nosey but....
I would definately try to find out if the designer you are looking for has sample sales . I went to the Vera Wang sample sale, I waited in line for about 5 hours but definately worth it. I found my dress for $1,500 (not including alterations). I probably would not spend $5,000 on a wedding dress(just not in my budget) but if this is the dress you want and it works w/ your budget why not. Good luck!!!Septbride

Re: not to be nosey but....
My dress was $550, without alterations. It is an Alfred Angelo, and I bought it at Lynbrook Bridal Center. I saw the pic in a magazine when I first got engaged, tried on about 20 other dresses, finally tried this one on and *bam* - that was the one!! I was very budget conscious, and I knew Alfred Angelo wasn't an 'expensive' designer. And keep in mind, you usually have to buy the slip separately (my full slip was almost $100)...

I paid $1250 for my gown and with the alterations it came out to be about $1500. I had a Paloma Blanca dress.

Re: not to be nosey but....
diamondgrl1, maybe you should look around more. You may find something you love just as much that won't break the bank.

Re: not to be nosey but....
Diamond...don't feel bad...there are lots of girls who will spend way more than you and lots who will spend way less. Some people are happy with a dress that costs 99 dollars and some are happy witha 6999 dress. Much like cars, jewelry, etc.. - there is a huge range depending on materials, design, etc....Do you love your dress? As long as that is the case and you can afford a more expensive dress - try not to compare what you are paying with others.
If it makes you feel any better, most the brides on the weddingchannel.com message boards are all spending in your range for their dresses. Its just a matter of perspective.
PS: Ines DiSanto gowns are beautiful!!

Re: $650 dress
My dress is $4000.00 --that was before veil, headpiece, alterations, shoes, etc. I know that it is a lot of money to spend on something that I will wear once, but it was THE ONE for me.

Re:
I went into looking for dresses thinking I would spend no more then $1500. I thought it was a waste of money. Most dresses I liked were in the $850-1220 range. But none made me say this is the dress. Then I when I found the dress that made veryone cry and say this was it, the price tag was a lot higher. Mine was about $2,500 before customizations and alterations and accessories. The feeling I got in the dress totally outweighed the price for me and I am fortunate I can say that.I had planned on paying for it myself and gratefully I could afford it (FI and I have been saving for many years). Wound up my mom insisted on picking up the tab.
There are plenty of dresses out there with many different price tags. If you can afford the price tag you are looking at be grateful and go for it. If you can't afford it, there are plenty of dresses out there in plenty of price ranges and keep looking. There are so many of beautiful dresses that may be the one at a lower cost.

Re: $650 dress
My dress was $2380, and it is pretty much being made to fit me, so no alterations will be necessary. Originally I thought that this was too much, and a lot of friends think i'm crazy, but I love my dress and we are spending so much money on everything else anyway...Welcome New Vendors
