Not using cake supplied to the RH
So we didnt love the cake baker our RH uses and the cake is included in the price of the pp at the RH.If we go with our own cake baker, we are wondering if the RH will discount us on something else. Has anyone had this experience?
I have an email out to the RH, but wanted to see if anyone had dealt with this situation first hand.
TIA!!!!

My cousin who is also my moh is a pastry chef and she wants to make our cake. So when we first went to our venue I asked and we were told we could get either $1 off pp or ice cream with the cake. They should definitely throw something in for you.

I don't have experience with this, but I'd make sure the RH doesn't want to charge you a cutting fee. Some restaurants do that when you bring your own cake, but hopefully the RH won't sink that low haha

I think my venue said its $100-$150 off for the cake if we don't go with their cake and they won't charge a cutting fee. However I will be using the bakery because its black house bakery and its my favorite bakery EVERRRR.

I have a friend who got married last year and decided not to go with her venue's baker. They didn't give her anything, but this may be because she waited until about 3 weeks before her wedding to change her mind. LOL

My RH is so awesome! They will credit us 1.75 a person if we dont use their bakery, but they were all 'tell us what you didnt like and we will try to fix it with them' So either way, we will get what we want. If FH decides he wants to go another route, then we will just pay the extra cost, but its nice that our RH is willing to credit us. I am so happy we went with Floral Terrace, they have been so great to work with every step of the way. And, believe me, I have asked them a million questions/requests already! LOL

At the Watermill, if we don't want to use their bakery, they said they would throw in a display of whatever else we wanted; pastries, fruit, a chocolate fountain... most places should be pretty flexible for you!

Can you use their cake as the grooms cake?

I asked my BM this question since I am not crazy about how the cakes look, he told me they do not give a discount or throw any extras in but they wouldnt charge me a cake cutting fee if I bring in my own. I was also told it has to be from a legit baker... not something baked at home. I am sure every hall is different so I would call your BM and ask.

Just read everyones comments.. I feel like my hall is the only one who wont give a credit or throw something in... just the stupid cake cutting fee. You'd think with all the $$ your spending already they would... boo!!Welcome New Vendors
