so i was so happy to finally send out my invites. people got them within 1 day!!!! now im getting married out east but most of my fam is not from around there. thats where the hotel comes into place. we are having a shuttle for those staying at hotel. people are complaining that its 20 min from eastwind and why cant they stay at a closer hotel...blah, blah, blah. hello! dont they think i tried to get a closer hotel? it was all booked. then when we tell them dont worry your getting shuttled and wont have to drive. they are telling us when they want to be picked up! W T F????? evreyone thinks that all their own personal needs should be accommodated and its F*CKING annoying!! like i dont have enough stuff to take care of?? people are really ballsy!!! OK vent over!

Totaly know how you feel! I've been getting requests on where people would like to sit and with whom! You'll sit where i tell you to sit, and your guest will leave on the shuttle when you decide!!! Just tell them that you have no control over the time. If they don't want to drive then be ready by blank o'clock!

ugh seriously----even for FREE people would complain. they don't have to drive--a shuttle will take them. o m g they might have to get ready a 1/2 hr earlier than they thought!

you tooo??? this one woman just gave me a list of 14 people she wants to be seated at her table.. ***???!?!?! i was like excuse me..???? and the best part, she didn't even ask if any of these people were invited, she took it upon herself to call and find out.. omggg.. i was shocked..

i feel like telling people 'TOUGH SH*T!!!! then dont come!!!' i have been so calm throughout this whole process. i guess i was bound to explode some time or another. people just baffle me!

people obviously don't know the area around East Wind....I grew up literally 3 minutes away and it's not like there are a ton of hotels right there.....Wading River is a small town!

OMG thats crazy!! It really bothers me when the people who complain or have 'requests' have planned weddings before. So they KNOW how tough it can be. My cousin and her daughter both asked who to respond too. Look at the invitation!! Meanwhile they planned her huge wedding a few years ago.

that's annoying! you are doing them a favor and they dont have to stay there or take the shuttle if they can find something they prefer.

Thats so annoying. You dont even have to supply them with the shuttle and they are complaining. I have had complaints also about the hotel being far away from Majestic Gardens. The hampton Inn was the closest one i could get. If they dont like it tough TITTY!!!!

They should just appreciate that they are being given a shuttle. When the day comes, don't they realize it should all be about you and not them!

People can really be pains. No matter what you do to try to help people, they always want more. It's so annoying!
I would tell them, if you don't want to take the shuttle bus, that's fine - I'll cancel it. Then see how they like the fact that they have to drive back and forth!

Do not let them get to you. People should realize that even getting them transportation is nice enough!!! People just always have to complain about something!

'i'll see what i can do'
that way it shuts them up - it makes them think your trying to accomodate them - but your not promising anything

How much more accomodating do people expect the bride and groom to be. You know I see a lot of comments that people act like the bride loses sight of the true meaning of the wedding. You know what, often times it sounds like the families and guests forget and start to act like they are doing you a huge favor by being there.
Yes, it's the bride and groom's choice to cater the affair they choose to, and you're grateful and appreciative to have your guests celebrate with you. But I think a lot of people don't seem to realize what goes into planning a wedding and how stressful it can become.
Unfortunately, the bottom line is you just can not please everyone. There is ALWAYS going to be someone who complains about or criticizes something. Why can't people just be gracious and happy for you and appreciate what is being extended to them.

No matter what you do, you can't please everyone. It will just make you crazy if you try. I try to be as fair and accommodating as I would like to be treated at weddings I attend (althought I've never complained if my wants are not met). If they don't like it, well they don't have to come and can do things differently at a wedding they plan.
