This is what I found on cala lilies

Cala Lily - Splendid Beauty

Cala lilly’s, which carry the meaning of magnificence and beauty, became very popular in the last few years.

Lilies
- Cala lily - Beauty and splendor
- Day Lily - Chinese emblem for mother

It does not mention anything about funeral.

Maybe she is talking about Easter Lilies which are used at Easter time on grave yards.

Regular white Lillies are usually associated with funeral.....not Cala lillies....they look completely different.

I think of lillies as weddings and also for funerals, but the calla lillies are more for the weddings.

usually at funerals they use lily of the valleys?? I think that is the name, they are a different kind of lily, that have a very strong smell, you usually see them a lot during Easter time.
