numbering response cards?

Original post by joan713

Is anyone numbering the response card (rsvp) from the wedding invitations, in case people don't write their name on the card? I'm making up a master list of all the guests, numbering them and putting a little number in back of the response card, just in case. It will be easier to track down who forgot to put in their name!

I think it is a really good idea. I didn't do it because I put a line on the response card to write the name in...no one forgot.

I highly recommend doing this. If you don't numbered them, you will go crazy figuring out who sent it to you. I received 10 RSVP response without their name(s)...I don't understand why people does that..so stupid

Yes, I am planning on it

I did it! I put a tiny number in the bottom corner on the back, which correlated with the invitation list.

Turns out all my people signed.....but that is not always the case....I highly recommend it. It takes an extra minute and can prevent a lot of stress.

So funny that this is posted, I literally just finished all the back of my RSVP's card - would rather be safe then sorry.

I didn't do it and had no problems, however I have heard many stories about people getting cards back with no name, so if it'll ease your mind, do it!! Can't hurt.

i did this and is used an UV pen to do this so that my guests wouldn't be able to see their number until I put it under a black light (it came with the pen) when I got the cards back.

where do you get a pen like that?

I think it is a great idea and I planned on doing it- but I forgot about it until after I mailed them! I would definitely do it if I had the chance!!

we did this. it was a great idea. i cant tell you how many people just wrote on the response card, 'yes I'm coming' without a name or anything! granted, i had a type of response card that just said reply so you had to write something. always be safe than sorry

I did this...although I haven't really needed to use it yet- only once and it was because I couldn't read the penmanship (my mom knew who it was though when she saw it)

I just wrote the number on the back of the card in the corner.

Only my cousin noticed it...she said 'what does the 33 mean on the back of the card?'

My MOH did this for me because I didn't know about this, but she did from her wedding. I was really happy because it's something I never even thought of!

Everyone we know put their names on it but some were illegible!

Also, one person apparently decided to change her name back to her married name from TWO divorces ago. She put that name on the card and no one had any idea who she was.
