NWR: (a little long) Upset...

Original post by dancinmyazoff

FSIL calls me up and says that her and Rocco are going to throw a surprise party for their parents 25th wedding anniversary. It's going to be at my house and it's going to be on the 8th at 4:00...they already decided on everything definitely. WELL Rocco doesn't know yet but I bought him tickets to see Lisa Lampanelli on the 8th in Connecticut. I was going to make a whole nice day out of it. I told FSIL what I had planned and she said 'oooh no that's the only day we can do it'. So I said nicely well I guess I'm going to have to sell the tickets...but I really don't want to. He's been dying to see her in person for the longest time and now I'm really upset. I didn't want to be the guilty party and say well we already have something to do that day so you can't have the party...but then again why couldn't he have called me up and mentioned something about it before THEY made it definite at our house. I could have nicely said to Rocco, well babe I have something planned for your birthday that night so could we (A) do it a little earlier that day or (B) do it on another day????

Now I don't know what to do

Family annoys me sometimes. It's good that you talked to him about it. Just leave the ball in his court now. You told you him you had something planned something special for him and if they did include you in the planning in the first place, then this entire situation could have been avoided.

I hope it all works you. Lisa L. is funny as s h i t !

I would talk to Rocco...see if you can do it earlier! let him know what it is then maybe it will help. I know it was supposed to be a surprise...but maybe if he knows he will be a little easier to convince into moving the time good luck

that is a really tough predicament... Someone should have called you first. Especially since it is at your house!

I agree. They should have talked to you about it before since it is at your house. I would talk to him, maybe he can tlak to her and change it.
