NWR: Acupuncture?

NWR: Acupuncture?

My dad has a pain in his shoulder and he is thinking about getting acupuncture. We live in Massapequa and trust me - he is not going to go into the city or very far from here. Any ideas, suggestions? He said he wants to go somewhere where I know someone who it has helped.

Any ideas??

sorry i dont know of any around here,.

My grandpa goes and he swears by it. but the woman he goes to is a friend of theirs.. and she mainly does accupuncture on horses. So i doubt your dad would want to go to her. She works for a lot of the horse trainers, we know her cause FH's uncle is a trainer.

anyway.. hope your dad feels better. if you find a place and its good let us know.. i've been interested in trying it!

I have no idea what that means and no he hadnt gone to physical therapy but i think he just aggrivated it this evening. It has hurt him for awhile but now it hurts a lot. He is a plumber so he is always bending, twisting, etc so he probably strained it somehow and he doesnt rest so it won't get better.

Any more suggestions ladies?

They only have one person who does it there and I can't remember their name. My mom goes to the lady chiropractor there and she loves her. She is sooooo sweet.

sorry, just meant if he strained a muscle in his shoulder. if so, maybe physical therapy could help. definitely try acupuncture if he totally believes in it. if it doesn't work though, tell him to see a doctor to help diagnosis him. if the doctor seems to think it's like a rotator cuff problem, they could refer him for therapy. just an idea. hope your dad feels better.
