i posted this on 'pets' too, but those boards seem to be so slooow... so...
i got my lil man neutered last friday. my question is, once they are fixed, shouldn't they stop humping things?
sorry, but i really would rather not call the vet and ask this, lol
he never humped legs or anything before, but he always had this favorite stuffed animal. well, the other day... it was still his favorite, if ya know what i mean.
is this normal?!

mine is neutered and still does it.....alot of dogs still do it ...nothing to worry about

yes its normal....the neutering not necessarily stops the humping it could but its not full proof...it is still healthier to neuter to avoid different cancers so dont think u did it for nothing

I read that this behavior is a way dogs express dominance. My dog has a 'favorite' toy dog and she's a girl!

We thought the same thing, boy were we wrong. Anyway my dog seems to do it when he's bored or feel ignored, Like if I'm playing ball with him and stop to talk to someone he will hump my leg until I throw the ball.

A lot of dogs hump after being neutered.

I took all my dog's 'favorite' toys away and then when I felt he could have them back, I gave them to him and he didn't hump them

okay, thanks ladies!! i really don't care that he does it... fun for him, i guess right? i just wanted to make sure it was normal. i did it more so as to avoid testicular cancer or other problems that are heightened if you don't get it done, and because next time i want to get a little girl doggy and i don't want babies! lol
