NWR - An OMG sitch!

I got fired today. I am sitting home in total disbelief. The director at my job physically intimidated me and caused our argument to a total blow out. They fired me for insobordination. I am scared and shocked - after all i have done for that company and worked so hard, and taken all the verbal abuse from her and then I get fired 57 days before my wedding. OMG. I am so sorry but i so needed to vent. Im just scared and confused and disgusted.

im sorry to do this here. i just think that i will apply for unemployment and concentrate on our wedding and of course finding a job. Oh boy!!

CRAP! That toally sucks! I think collecting unemployment is good. I am hoping they won't screw you over with it.

i worked for Quality Support for a huge company

i actually used to work with my dad (he is an optician) and i am going to try to get a job in that field again.

I am so sorry that this happened to you so close to your wedding. But your job sounds like it was an absolutely horrible place to work. No matter what you're feeling now, you can do better than that. Hang in there.

thank you girls for the hugs! i need them!! i just cant believe it. but , i think youre right, maybe this was the best thing, you know? i dont think i will get screwed b/c they know my FH is an attorney. i think they will just give the unemloyment to me with out a fight, b/c i will take them to court if i have to. what my boss did was wrong. she stood in front of the office door and wouldnt let me leave, when i tried to get out, she slammed the door, thank goodness my hand didnt get stuck!!

Maybe this was the push you needed to find something you really enjoyed. I know you were not happy there.

OMG how did you control yourself when she slammed the door on you. I don't know what I would have done in that situation....what a nutjob she is!!!!!!

Who needs that. I stayed at a job for way tooooo long being pushed around, then last year I left on Labor Day weekend, called in sick for a week (just to **** with t hem) and t hen quit. It was the best thing I ever did. I got a job that Tuesday after Labor Day and I do nothing here. I'm online all day. My boss is the same age as me, and I have like no stress here.

I'm done with being scared, get unemployment.

Sorry, I'm the wrong person to talk to about work. I hate working and can't wait until the day I don't have to do it anymore, lol

I hate to tell you but if you call the unemployment center they are going to tell you that you are NOT going to be able to collet unemployment because you were fired because of insuborination. They are going to get in touch with your recent company and ask why you were let go and when they say that word insuborination they are most likely going to deny you unemployment. Also if you are granted unemployment, you are going to have to call every week on a certain day from your home phone line and they are not going to care if you are on your honeymoon or not. In addition to all of this, you are most likely going to have to wait if they grant you unemployment close to a month. Sorry to tell you all of this bad news!

you dont have to call to claim weekly benefits, you can do it through internet but yeah you have to do it every week...

I'm so sorry you're going through this so close to your wedding, but just remember, when one door closes another one opens. Just start getting your resume out there and hope for the best. As far as unemployment goes, look into it and see if you're eligible. Good luck!
