NWR: Ann Coulter is a disgusting WITCH!!!

I heard these comments, too. I am NOT defending her comments. I just want to point out, since the above it is not in context, that she is referring to FOUR women from NJ who are using the events of 9-11 to make political statements about non-9-11 issues. They are taking their moment in the spotlight and exploiting it. I agree with the PREMISE of what she means, but NOT the way in which she stated them. Her wording is WAY out of line and I don't think these women in any way ENJOY the fact that that their husbands and the fathers of their children were killed by terrorists who hate America... those poor men. But I don't think that the wives are memorializing their husbands' deaths in a good way by politicizing their deaths and capitalizing off of it, which I think is why Ann Coulter (who I think is a strong woman who obviously speaks her mind) is so upset - and what upsets me as well. I would NOT have worded it as HARSHLY INSENSITIVELY as she did... that was all just uncalled for. But, on the other side, Michael Moore has said and done even worse against the men currently fighting for our freedom even to say all this...

As for the LEGALITIES for Moore and Coulter to say all this... I'm sure the courts will take care of this.

I really hate that this was even brought into this chat room... I love coming here to talk WEDDINGS and nothing but weddings. All this other stuff just gives me a headache!!

I saw a part of an interview with her on tv last night and when she made her comment about the 'Jersey Girls' and their husbands that were killed on September 11 I seriously wanted to reach through the TV and smack that b!tch. How dare she say something like that.
I was so outraged! She makes me sick!!!

I find it interesting that any time a Conservative/Republican says anything of this nature it creates a wind storm and instanlty gets one branded as a b***ch. If we were to only read on to the real facts, and not just listen to the news blurbs about it we would perhaps not agree, but better understand her point.

Yet, people such as the 'intellectual genius' that is Michael Moore receive praise for his writings and movies which speak out againts the brave men fighting for our country.

And although she may have gone over the top this time. I do believe in freedom of the speech.

very well said sarah and i agree 100%!! it was good of you to point out that there are extreme rights but that there are also extreme lefts too-- and neither are appropriate. and i understand her point and what, underneath everything, she is trying to get at-- but it was not said in the right way AT ALL. but you gave very good insight. and you are totally right about it being brought here-- i love everything weddings and i even love a lot of the NWR stuff but this is just going to stir up so much stuff-- not to mention pain and sadness. you are right, i need some aleve lol

Ann Coulter is a truly despicable person, and rarely says *anything* of actual value. I highly doubt that any of those women asked for this, or could possibly be enjoying this.

I think what she's said is disrepsectful to not only the widows, but the parents/children/siblings/friends/neighbors/co-workers/employers/RESIDENTS OF NY, NJ, and CT who were affected by this tragedy.

And I can't see how that would sell more books to anyone of any level of dignity or intelligence.

I think that regardless of whether you agree with the point she is trying to make (for the record, I do not), she does a complete disservice to herself by expressing herself this way. If you have a point to make, express it in a logical way and give examples, don't resort to slandering others...

Well said, but let's be real, Ann Coulter is out to sell books and the more scandalous her remarks, the better her sales will be. There are lots of people who get paid to spin ideas and be divisive - just look at Rush Limbaugh and Michael Moore (< though I do like him). Do you really think these people can be trusted to make informed statements? That is not what they get paid to do. They get paid to make trouble and to be masters of 'spin'.

Too often Americans take what they hear in the media as fact instead of really informing themselves. If people quote Ann Coulter on anything, they are just perpetuating the spin. JMO.

meaning her coments were evil, and demeaning. and I did state that her statements were harsh. Which means I do agree that this situtation should have been sought in a more logical manner. But it wasn't. It was said the way she wanted it to be said. To stir up non-sense, and she got exactly waht she wanted. Publicity, for her book, and the public in an uproar.

Personally I think she is not better than Howard Stern, only in a different way. The way she has grouped all of the widows as one. While yes I am sure there might be some truth behind her statement I highly doubt there are more than 1.
