Re: NWR: Anyone know anything about Babylon?

Hi Marcella,
Babylon is nice. Has a real small town feel to it. Babylon village is a bit like Sayville / Northport village, a homey kind of place. I live in W. Babylon which is nice also.

Re: NWR: Anyone know anything about Babylon?

marcella babylon is nice a kind of older type antique look to it, alot of the nicer houses are on the water, north of montauk highway didnt seem as nice when we looked in that area. nice little town though and a great school.

Babylon village is really nice! Depending on where you work- its kind of a long commute to the city.

Re: NWR: Anyone know anything about Babylon?

This happens to be the area FI and I are looking to buy in. We actually had 2 bids accepted and both deals fell through but on to the next one. I like N. Babylon more that W. Babylon. W. Babylon is south of Southern State pkwy and is on the south shore of LI. N. Babylon is North of Southern State and is filled with new and young families. I checked both school districts and they both have good rankings. Good Luck.

Re: NWR: Anyone know anything about Babylon?

I grew up in North Babylon and it is a great area to live. The school district is pretty good. Babylon is an incorporated village like Massapequa (for example) therefore your taxes will be higher than say North or West Bablyon...I think they have thier own police forse also (which is why the taxes are higher)

Good Luck

Re: NWR: Anyone know anything about Babylon?

You should look out for N. Babylon though. I know growing up near there, that was where a lot of problem kids lived sort to speak. In fact, at my summer job, a lot of the kids that stole money were from N. Babylon and I had to fire them all. That might just be a select area though.
Edited to say that I don't want you to think any less of it, because there are probably parts of every neighborhood with 'bad kids'
I want to live in Babylon village where you could walk to the train station. I have always loved walking around Argyle Park. The Argyle is restaurant is nice too, you should go there to get a feel!

Re: NWR: Anyone know anything about Babylon?

Marcellabella: I live in Babylon, It is so pretty.
Babylon Village is very nice like the girls said it is kind of like an old town with white street posts (Cute) In the village they ussually have fairs down the main Rd (Old Deer Park Ave). It is very expensive to live in the village though. I actually live on the borderline of babylon- N babylon, my block is off of Old Deer Park ave near Sunrise Hwy. I think you helped my sister with some information on her house in N. Babylon. If you need anything else let me know

Re: NWR: Anyone know anything about Babylon?

I grew up in West Babylon, near Argyle Park. My neighborhood was full of kids. It was a very small neighborhood. Other parts of West Babylon (number street areas) had a different feel to them- but not better or worse, just different. Babylon Village is a very nice place to live. Close to a great train line, lots of shops, a nice park, good schools.

I think when you ask 'how is this neighorhood' you really open a can of worms in a way. We all have a different idea of what 'nice' is. So one girl love N. Babylon, another doesn't.

Re: NWR: Anyone know anything about Babylon?

I grew up in West Baylon. I loved it when I was younger, but needed to get out when I was old enough. It changed or maybe I changed. Babylon is very nice though. The town itself is great and the homes by the water are beautiful. Good luck!
