Re: NWR Anyone know what an LPN's salary ranges from?
As far as I know every hospital has some sort of tuition reimbursement program for continuing education once you work for them.

Re: NWR Anyone know what an LPN's salary ranges from?
Im a student at NCC and even though I hear the program is good their acedemic advisment is the pits! Just an example. I have a B+ in Eng 101 and a B- in Eng 102. Well AA told me I needed to retake the Eng 101 When I went into the nursing dept. after registering they told me that was ridiculous and they should have made me take 102 over because taking 101 wouldnt move my gpa but 1/2 a pt. I was told that since I got a C in A&P 1 not to retake it but take 2 and as long as I had a B+ or higher it would replace the C, Uh yeah wrong again. I was told to keep taking courses towards my RN(core classes)because this looks good since I wouldnt have anything but clinicals to take once in the program, yeah again wrong. It lowered my chances of getting in. I went from a 3.75 gpa to a 3.0 gpa because of the other classes that I was told I didnt need A's in because they only counted the 4 pre req classes toward getting in and any other classes you took just determined your ranking in that priority.(This I got from the nursing information sessions held at NCC)UH YEAH AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN, fountains of misinformation. So in order to have a chance now I need to repeat all my B classes and get A's or no shot as per the nursing advisor. I cant believe a school could give out soooo much incorrect info. As a matter of fact I just got a letter the other day saying that it is the students responsibility to know what they should register for not the academic advisement.?????????? In order for me to take these classes over I would have to pay for it all myself because my FA wont cover it and being that i have two small kids not in school and I work continuing to go to school pt. will take me forever to redo all these classes. UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH okay now I've vented Thanks! Everytime I call Farmingdale Im told that they are not accepting applications for their program. Also I would have to assume now after talking to SCC that since Farmingdale although less than 5 min from me is in Suffolk I wouldnt get in there either because of residency issues.

But dont some hospitals actually have their own schools within the hospital. I thought Winthrop and Stonybrook did?
