I have a lot of trouble with my ears because I have TMJ really bad. I get riniging sometimes. But mostly they feel stuffed especially my right ear. It's a nightmare. Nothing I've tried helps. Does anyone else have TMJ?

Can you tell me what TMJ feels like. I have been grinding my teeth for years and sometimes I wake up with my jaw clenched. I get headaches when I grind my teeth too. Maybe this is whats causing it.

The jaw clicks and locks. It does come from grinding the teeth and clenching the jaw. It also causes headaches, facial pain, ear pain and stuffiness. A lot of times I feel like Ihave an ear infection. I was told by an ear doctor that I had TMJ. I know stress has a lot to do with it. And also my bite is 'off' I know that a dentist can make a bite plate, but I've heard they don't help and are very uncomfortable to wear. My ears have been so bad recently that I'm going crazy. So I understand what you are going through.

Yes, I just recently went to a chiropractor and accupuncturist. I'm so desperate for help and someone suggested I try it. It didn't help me at all. I was just getting more nervous and upset going there.
So far I find nothing that helps my TMJ and the more stressed I get...the worse it gets.
Songstress, how are you feeling today?

Hey girls....just letting you know that I am an Audiologist in Plainview...if any of you suffer from tinnitus its a good idea to go to an ENT and get some testing done. If you want to FM me about it, please feel free. This is what I do every single day. Or if you want to make an appointment, you really should. It's always a good idea to get that checked out.

Ok i have a question...i have this thing that FREQUENTLY happens with my ear, it is the weirdest thing and fh always laughs when i say it because it sounds funny. But behind my ear, like right under it, it will get a bit swollen and very hard for a few minutes sometimes a little longer than a few minutes and it will hurt ALOT...its the weirdest thing and i have no clue what this can possibly be, ive never heard of anybody having such a problem

Well I believe that's a gland under your ear. I've gotten swollen around there when I'm sick sometimes and it does hurt. But that wouldn't be a good explaination why you get it frequently?!?!

I definitely would check out an ear nose and throat doctor.

Re: NWR: Anyone suffer from tinnitus??

The TMJ joint is right in front of the ear. It's so close that TMJ affects the ears a lot. Even thought it's a jaw/dental problem an ENT is usually the one to diagnose it. People go to the ear doctor thinking it's an ear problem. That what happend with me.
