NWR: Apartment Hunting on Long Island

Hello ladies,

I called off my wedding last week, and am now searching for an apartment. The people on this board were so wonderfully helpful when I was planning that I thought people might have some ideas about this: I am searching for a 1-bedroom apartment, preferably in a complex (or renting someone's condo/coop - preferably in more of a garden-style rather than a big building); or possibly a legal 2-family house; willing to pay up to $ 1500 or so. Looking in Bellmore, Wantagh, Merrick, Garden City, Mineola, central Nassau . . There seems to be very little out there on craigslist and mlsli.com-- or else I don't know where to look. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks so much!

Ive passed by heritage square apartments in East Meadow, they looked well kept and nice.

I lived in Fairfield in two different locations. They were great. There are more of them in Suffolk but I believe there are a few of them in Nassau also that you can look at.

Also, keep looking at Craigslist. I found my current apartment there and it is great.
