Re: NWR-Belly button piercing
i have one. it didnt hurt, its like a very quick pinch, and then its done. I didnt watch it be done, my FH did though and he said he felt queasy after.
mine was fine didnt get infected and i've had it over two years.
they give you something for that to put on it everyday for the first few weeks. i cant remember the name right now.
to change the jewelry is really easy, you just untwist the small round ball top. it also depends on what tpe of ring you get.

Re: NWR-Belly button piercing
It didn't hurt when I got it done, but about 4 hours later it was aching really bad. It was pretty sensative for a few days. Mine didn't get infected but I did clean it a lot with Bactine (It was 10 years ago, that's what they said to use, they may say to use something else now) and soaked it in salt water (stick a glass full of warm salty water over it) which was also reccomended. I don't remember if I was allowed out in the sun right away or not.

I still have it from when I was 18, and I'm 32 now - it was in style then, not so much anymore, and it did get so infected!!! didn't really hurt and I'm such a baby - I aklso had my tongue, nose, septum, and every part of my ear pierced... can you believe no tats yet????
Go for it if you want it - I never change the jewelry though - too much effort!!!

Re: NWR-Belly button piercing
I've had mine for the past 10 years. I got it done in college. It pinched, but other than that it didn't hurt. Mine has never gotten infected. I tried to change the ring but was allergic to the metal plating. So I still have a regular ring in it. You can definitely tan and do everything you normally do.
I think they tell you to put Bactine on it the first few weeks.

I don't know about teh belly, but I have something a bit higher done and it didn't hurt at all. It all varies on each persons tolerance I think. If you can take a moments pain for a lifetime of beauty, then it is all worth it!

I had one but took it out a few years ago. Believe it or not the hole didn't fully close so you can still see where it was.

Re: NWR-Belly button piercing
I've had mine for about 10 years now. Never once got infected. I totally I forgot I have it, don't even notice it anymore. You can tan with it, that isn't a problem. Only once in ten years have I taken it out. I needed a bone density scan and they had to take it out, no biggie. Seriously, I don't even notice it anymore.

That's funny - I did the same thing - I got EVERYTHING pierced when I was about 22 - 24 and then it wasn't until I was about 30 that I took out almost all my piercings and started gettting tattoos.

Re: NWR-Belly button piercing
i got mine when i was 15 - can you believe that was 10 yrs ago.
i have never had an infection. (knock wood) and surprisingly it didnt hurt @ all when i got it pierced.
i go tanning all the time during the summer so i dont know who told you you cant - but i do.
and once you get it pierced it is real easy to change your rings.
i credit alot of my success to the 'barbell' - it was relatively 'new' 10 yrs ago - alot of girls were still getting the rings - but i got a barbell. today mos rings are barbell type - they stick out less and prevent the ring from catching to things or rubbing against your clothing.
