i have one.. got it when i turned 18( omg that was like 8 years ago) it was just a pinch, didnt hurt too bad at all, mine never got infected, i just kept cleaning it and washing it with dial antibacterial soap and tha worked. it was a little sensitive for a while after you gotta watch not getting it caught on your clothing while getting dressed... that can hurt..lol
you can't change the jewelry for 3months i think, but its not hard at all.

I have 1 and I haven't had any problems. I got it done 8 years ago. It did hurt in the beginning, but it wasn't that bad. And it was worth it. Go for it!!!

Re: NWR-Belly button piercing
I got it done when I was 17 and took it out when I was 25, along with my 2 extra earring holes that I had in my ears. I think I became more conservative when I got older, so I decided to take all extraneous piercing off my body. I'm also marrying a lawyer, who taught me about how to look more conservative. BTW, my belly button hole recently got infected and I took it out two years ago.

I have had mine for 10 years now and I can't see myself taking it out! ha It doest really hurt, just a pinch at first, but you ahve to be careful...wear low jeans for a few weeks, and clean it, otherwise it could get infected! I have also changed mine, at first its a pain, but you ge the hang of it!
Good Luck!

Re: NWR-Belly button piercing
does it hurt? No (but then again I have a very high pain threshold)
does it get infected alot? No. Take extra special care of it the first few months and you'll be fine
I heard u cant tan with one? Yes, but I still take mine out, because now it is so easy to take it out and put a new one
How the hell do you change the jewerly? You should keep the original piercing for a few months (they will tell you how long...I got my piercing 10yrs ago)
I am going to make my piercing part of my 'something blue'

Lets put it this way.... eventually when I have kids and want to breast feed, it will be in the way.
Mine will be out way before then. I actually accidentally ripped one of them out getting out of the shower....talk about OUCH !!!!!

I'm kinda confused why so many people have them get infected....is it that the skin is sensitive there & some people are allergic to the metal or such?
well - yes, having clothing rubbing against it doesn't help, but lets just say I had my fun in college - and rubbing up skin to skin with other people is never a good idea with a new peircing!!!

I had one - yes, it hurt when I got it done and yes it got infected. I took it out about 3 years ago and I still have a scar where it was....FH didn't like it, that is why I took it out. JMHO, but I think it's a little passe....but if you like it, go for it.

i've had mine for over 5 years now. i too forget i still have it pierced. it didn't hurt when i got it done, but it was sore to the touch for a few weeks after. spray bactine kept it clean and infection free. if you care for it as instructed youshould not have any problems. you change the jewelry just as you would an ear piercing---the liittle balls on the end twist off to remove it. get the ring first to reduce risk of infection and better ability to turn it when cleaning, and you can later switch to a barbell style if you prefer. who cares if people say its 'passe'---if you and fh think they are cute then go for it. ~lacey
