AVENUE Q!
FH is the SAME way, and his first bway show was Avenue Q...and he still talks about it to this day! What's great about it, is that it's so raunchy and funny! No matter what, he'll have a good time, as it makes fun of musicals anyway!
Jersey Boys might be a good idea for him too...it's supposed to be awesome!
I haven't seen a show in ages- how depressing since I majored in musical theater!!

I've been to sooo many, but FH had only seen Phantom before we met, and he hated it.
It took some convincing, but now he loves Broadway!
His first show with me was RENT- and he looooooved it. He even asked me to copy the soundtrack for him when we got home. He had it in his car! hahahhaha
Since then, we've seen Rent (again), 42nd street, music man, Movin' Out (those 3 closed already), and Wicked, and he liked them all, but LOVED Rent.

Definitely start him off with a fun one. The Producers is great and so is Wicked.

when I met my FH he had never been to a Broadway show either. I took him to see Les Miserables for our one year anniversary right before it went off Broadway. he loved it and now it's back!! he still says Les Mis and Lion King were his favorites.
we've also seen Aida, Phantom, Beauty and the Beast......next we are planning to see Wicked -- it has GREAT reviews!! there is probably a wait for good seats though

FH is definately not into broadway. He has taken me to 1 b/c I love it - Phantom and he hated it. I suggest Ave Q too! FH hated rent the movie!
My fh is not into Broadway shows at all (so uncultured! ) but we went to see The Producers and he loved it! Rent is also really good, and I've heard Avenue Q is great as well...

Wicked was INCREDIBLE. I also loved Spamalot - but I am a huge Monty Python fan. FH will NOT go see a show with me! He has no interest whatsoever. So when I go - I take my sisters or my girlfriends. Good night away from him!

Does he like Monty Python? Many guys do. If so, take him to Spamalot. I went with my Monty Python-loving FH, a present for our first Valentine's Day, and we both laughed until we were out of breath. Actually had preview tickets, it hadn't opened yet, but I knew it would be funny. I know other guys who have seen it and loved it. It's got singing, dancing, and it's really funny.

Hands down Avenue Q for his first show. He'll love it FH and I went to see Wicked recently and it was good too. OR if you want to do an off Broadway, go see Blue Man Group!!

Rent is good, Phantom, or even Mama Mia (which is wedding themed related).

FH isn't into Broadway either, but he loved Mamma Mia. You can take him to see Jersey Boys too, which he might enjoy.
