AVENUE Q!
FH is the SAME way, and his first bway show was Avenue Q...and he still talks about it to this day! What's great about it, is that it's so raunchy and funny! No matter what, he'll have a good time, as it makes fun of musicals anyway!
Jersey Boys might be a good idea for him too...it's supposed to be awesome!
I haven't seen a show in ages- how depressing since I majored in musical theater!!
Same here..... FH never been to one and I really wanted to go (I've seen a lot), so for my 29th B-Day he took me to Ave Q and LOVED it.

Re: NWR: broadway shows
My FH is not a huge musicals fan but I love Broadway and I still have aspirations of maybe someday being up on that stage (my dream career). We have been to a few together but his first was Avenue Q and he loved it! I suggest for a first time, Avenue Q, Spamalot, or Jersey Boys. Wicked in amazing as is Les Miserables and Phantom.

Re: NWR: broadway shows
My FH hates musicals but I took him to see Blast (not showing anymore), Avenue Q, and Spamalot and he loved them all.
I'm a bit biased because I love Monty Python but Spamalot was probably the best show I've ever seen. The costumes, music, and set were amazing and it was so funny. My brother actually fell out of his seat!

HAIRSPRAY was hands down the best show I have been too! I loved it!!!!
But if he is into maybe, funnier, raunchier things, and you want to go off broadway (its like on 50th and 8th or something so its not too far) EVIL DEAD the musical was hilarious and definitely gets my two thumbs up!!!!

I love going to see BRoadway shows and FH has been to a few with me.
I would suggest either Avenue Q, Hairspray or Wicked. You can't go wrong with any of those.
Good luck. Let us know what you get tickets for

DH also never had been to a Broadway show before we were together. To break him in I took him to Rent. Every time I ask him what he wants to see next he says Rent. He loved it!

JERSEY BOYS.......is such a guys show. I mean...I loved it too....it was one of my top three favorites....but my FH absolutely loved it too..and he is so not into Broadway shows. It's about Franki Valli and The Four Seasons...has a lot of 'Soprano's-like' scenes. He will love it!
