So, my wonderful honey has this friend. This friend has a girlfriend that I CANNOT STAND!!!
I wanted to share with you all some of her thoughts on weddings. She posted this on another message board that I belong to (non wedding related board). PS - she wants to be a wedding planner too!!!

'My only big wedding pet peeve is when it is all about the couple. I know, I know - we're celebrating your love and your day... but let's face it folks, except for you and maybe your parents - no one really cares that much. So stop with the favors with your names on (no one is going to actually use them!) and make it a party that EVERYONE can enjoy! Otherwise it becomes this giant egotistical circus with everyone jumping through hoops for a bride on her 'special' day.'

Not for nothing, but isn't your wedding day like the ONE day in your life when you really CAN make it all about you? Whatever, some people just have a hard time when other people are getting married. You know the saying....always a bridesmaid, never a.....

What would be the difference between her version of a wedding and a club?
It sounds like you want to be a wedding planner also - how exciting!

Well actually - an update (if anyone cares)....
I posted this quote from her and made some comments on my own in my livejournal. She of course happens to 'find it' (she probably went looking for it). She made TWO comments about my entry. Basically told me that she wasn't attacking me (I never thought she was) and how this is her opinion. She also told me, TWICE, to not do her any favors by inviting her. So what is a girl to do?
*Sigh* Of course, now another of our mutual friends (this guy is also long time friends with my fiance) tells me that I shouldn't have attacked her in my livejournal...I'vemade her feel uncomfortable and all of them uncomfortable!
Maybe I should not even go to my wedding

Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so sorry, that girl has some issues and really if she feels so strongly about it, maybe you don't need her there stressing you out on your wedding day. You deserve better than that! But I completely understand how you feel, I hate conflict too. She sounds like one of those people who just thrive on it!
