An anti-inflammatory would help even something over the counter like motrin for a good full 10 days and resting it. Those arm bands are good and a wrist splint to wear at night. If it is that severe sometimes they will do a carpal tunnel release which is a minor surgery that will release the nerve from the entrapment. But you doctor should refer you to an orthopedist if it doesnt improve with simples measures.

Thanks Tara and all of you. I started lifting all these bags this morning and I was back in pain before I stepped into my train!

I found a website about CTS. Very interesting to see there are so many ways of getting this.
