aren't you entiled to receive your credit score for free once a year. having a problem finding it. I went to one website, didn't give a score.. just verified personal info..
anybody heard of this or know the website??

usually u have to pay xtra for your score, but you can try freecreditreport.com
also, if you apply for any type of credit u can get a free copy of your credit report from the credit bureau that was run with 30 days.

if you have a wamu card or bank account you can get your credit score on their website. it tracks it as well, for instance, i know my credit has gone up well over 30 points in the past 6 months.

most banks will i think allow you to check it..also go to one of the credit bureaus websites ..they will let you do it once a year i think

you can get it through freecreditreport.com
you have to put in all your info and then they will email you to let you know you can go on their website and look at your score. there you can see your score, see any company that has inquired about your report (ie:credit cards, banks,loans, etc). you can print this report and can look at it anytime for free for 30 days. after the 30 days they start charging your card 12.95 a month. don't be like me and forget to cancel and give in everytime you do call to cancel!

I use a site called Equifax. I pay a yearly fee for a once a year credit report and for a daily credit score check (this updates daily). If my credit score goes up or down, a credit card or anything increases it's balance, or someone tries to open an account or check my credit.... I get an email with a full report. I love it.

yes the annualcredit.com one is the legit gov one.
Here is what I got off the goverment sote
'Only one website is authorized to fill orders for the free annual credit report you are entitled to under law – annualcreditreport.com. Other websites that claim to offer “free credit reports,” “free credit scores,” or “free credit monitoring” are not part of the legally mandated free annual credit report program. In some cases, the “free” product comes with strings attached. For example, some sites sign you up for a supposedly “free” service that converts to one you have to pay for after a trial period. If you don’t cancel during the trial period, you may be unwittingly agreeing to let the company start charging fees to your credit card.
Some “imposter” sites use terms like “free report” in their names; others have URLs that purposely misspell annualcreditreport.com in the hope that you will mistype the name of the official site. Some of these “imposter” sites direct you to other sites that try to sell you something or collect your personal information.
annualcreditreport.com and the nationwide consumer reporting companies will not send you an email asking for your personal information. This is the legit gov't site that will give you your credit reports once per year.
You are entitiled to one free credit report from each of the 3 bureau's one a year. the credit score is extra.

If you want your actual FICO score. the score based off your credit report. tOne place to try buy it is probably myfico.com. I think the annual credit report just includes all the things on your credit history not your fico score.
You can buy from one of them all all three of the agencies; TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax.. I went through this when I bought my house. Plus when you go through myfico it doesn't count as a point lowering inquiry on your credit (if you didn't know too many credit inquiries into your credit will sometimes lower your score, ie too many credit aps in a time period) . they have an annual service too but I never did that. I just buy the report if I need to actually see my score. I hate joining stuff that is a recurring bill.
Oh wait I forgot, You can also opt to get the score when you are getting the free credit report. (I don't know how much that was extra though & if they were cheaper than myfico) check them both out!
