NWR: Did you ever notice....

Did you ever notice that some people take losing weight or staying thin way too far? To the point that they start too not even have a shape anymore. Just curious if it is just me or if others have noticed this.

No not anybody close to me just generally speaking. I hear people talk sometimes and just think to myself that it sounds crazy. Like I will see somebody out that looks like they weigh 100lbs soaking wet and I will hear them say that they cant eat anything fattening, they have to eat salads so they dont gain 2 pounds. Then I think to myself that they look like they need to gain about 15 pounds in order to look healthy.

I most definitely have met people like that. It worries me especially when people stop looking healthy.

As a side note....on Tues. Fh and I went to The Cheesecake Factory in Westbury and the hostess was soooooo thin. I mean almost anorexic looking. It was very scary. I saw her next to a regular looking thin girl and you could really see the stark difference between them. JMO

I have seen people out like this too. It's almost as if they are more concerned about a number on a scale rather then their health.

Yea they would rather the scale say a low number then look healthy. I was out to lunch yesterday and could hear these stick thin girls at the next table talking about how they had to tone up an lose a pound or two so their thighs didnt touch. Give me a break they looked like a bag of bones to begin with.

That is what I mean it is nice to be thin but there is a point where it is too thin and it just doesnt look good anymore

Re: NWR: Did you ever notice....

i know some girls who are naturally like that, one girl is rail thin and she eats ALOT and all the time. But i do know what you mean, if they are healthy then thats fine but some go too far and put their health at risk. I dont know thats crazy though...i do know people who think OMG i am so fat meanwhile infact they are TOO skinny, and then wont eat alot, meanwhile im like ok you can eat a cheeseburger right now and you wont gain weight.

Its crazy, and i just hope these girls arent hurting themselves. I mean listen we all worry about weight, im not one to talk. But also when i was losing weight, i had to stop at one point bc i thought i was getting too skinny(wow wish that was my problem now hahahaha) and everyone kept pointing it out too but i also like to have curves so when i do lose weight i like to focus on waist, abs and arms and also get toned. But everybody likes different things.

You are right, toning is the key. Skinny and curvy is good but some of these girls look like they have little boy bodies because they are so thin

She actually has some kind of shape. I am talking more like nicole ritchie a while back....she was just so thin, had dark circles under her eyes and was so pasty pale. I dont know why you would want to look like that.

Re: NWR: Did you ever notice....

I know many girls who have taking eating, weight way to far. Unfortunately it is extremely common. What everyone has to remember is that is more of a mental illness then a physical one. It is usually about so much more then eating and weight.

Re: NWR: Did you ever notice....

I have a bm who has suffered with anorexia since she was a teen. Right now, she is doing ok , but still says things like ' oh i have a tummy now or I am all flab ( she is MAYBE 110 at most! ) and I am like girl you don't look like you just came out of a concentration camp anymore !

I remember about 2 years ago i made her get on the scale because i knew she wasn't eating and she kept insisting that she was 100 pounds ( she ws 87 ) . scary stuff. i tell her that she looks sick not thin when she gets bad and when she looks
' normal ' ( still pretty skinny, but not sick) i tell her how good she looks so she doesn't think she is fat !
