Okay so this is little off topic but I need your help! FH recently went on an interview and we aren't heavy drug addicts or anything but there was an incident on Super Bowl sunday where we were hanging out with some friends and we smoked. Well, fast forward to today and he was offered this really great career oppertunity. But he has to take a drug test. Apparently they are going to take his hair follicle and test it that way.
My question is, if he smoked February 6th and takes the test Monday, March 21st, will he pass?? (48 days I believe).
Please please please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are uncomfortable responding here, FM is always appreciated!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Don't quote me on this but I believe with the follicle sample it takes much longer for the drugs not to show up. You might wanna do an internet search on the follicle drug test. HTH

If I remember correctly it takes at least 5 years for drugs to get out of your hair follicles. At my job they random drug test, and I remember them telling me that.

Hair analysis not only detects if drugs of abuse have been used, it also provides information on the quantity and historic pattern of a person's drug use. This data is not available from any other drug testing procedure.
A lab analysis of the hair strand from any person will produce an accurate drug history for that person. It takes about 5 days for drugs to begin to appear in an individual's hair and will continue to be detectable in new hair for about 90 days.

It is so hard to find info on the net. I dont know if Im reading fact or fiction. We even found an 800 number to call so we did. He said if you are a recreational smoker meaning you smoke once every few months it probably won't show up. However if you smoke everyday it will appear in the results for up to a year from the day you stop. Does this info sound legit?

I have something about this written down in one of my files at work...a client of mine was getting a divorce and we wanted to see how long it would last so she could get a court order for her estranged hubby to be tested...I can check tomorrow, but I think it is something like 6 months per inch of hair....

Jess, I am sure there is a government agency that can give you exact info. I wish I could help. My next suggestion would be to call 311 an ask for info maybe they can give you some info on who to contact. All the best. Don't worry
