i think exercise and diet will help you lose weight - cutting down on portions will definitely show results. i worked out for years and years and maintained/gained weight. When i realized that my metabolism wasn't as fast as it used to be, I cut down on my portions and finally saw some results. hth.

Re: NWR: Exercise Bikes
about 5 years ago I had 20 pounds to lose and my grandma had an exercise bike. I would go over there 5 days a week and use the bike for 20-30 minutes at a time and I lost the 20 and didn't feel over exerted. So as long as you stick to it (or any exercise for that matter) you will be good to go! good luck!

Definitely! I have one similar to that and I try to ride it at least 20 minutes per day

Do you think will help in losing weight? I saw on walmart's site and think I may buy it. What do you ladies think?
How much is this bike? Does it fold up?

Do you have a bike already that you can ride outside? If you do then I recommend getting a stand that you can mount your existing bike on that turns it into a stationary bike.
We have one and it's nice....plus it can fold flat and doesn't take up much room at all.

Re: NWR: Exercise Bikes
It's definitely easier on the joints than a treadmill but it doesn't burn as much calories either. I'm an impatient person so I always skip the bike at the gym for the treadmill or elliptical because I want to get in and out and burn as much as I can in an hour.
That being said, the bike still burns calories and any exercise combined with diet will help you lose weight.
Make a deal with yourself that you can only watch t.v if you bike. I used to do that with walking on the treadmill (it's dangerous to run while watching t.v for me since I'm a klutz!!) and it helps.
I'm trying to get a treadmill for our new house!

If it's not too much muulah. . .it may be worth the investment. I got a gym membership at Planet Fitness (carle place) for $100 for the year! I really need to get there more, but I need a gym buddy. for motivation!
I just moved out there from Northport, all my friends are back there!

Thanks Ladies...I think I'm definitely going to purchase it for my apt!! I think this is something that I can potentially do every day. I've used a treadmill for working out, but it bothers my knees.
By the way the cost of the machine I just posted is $134 and has a ton of great reviews on Walmarts site.
