NWR: Feel the need to share this as it's disturbing!. WARNING: Gross

My co -workers daughter is a nurse, and recently, traveled to Africa as part of her internship. (She is 23). She has been home for a month, and has been not able to go to the bathroom, and has had abdominal cramping. So, after going to various Doctors and being told that everything is normal, she gives herself an enema. Guess what comes out? (again sorry for the grossness factor). WORMS!! As in live large worms!!! I think I would have passed out and died if I saw that come out of my body!!! My poor friend is soooo upset. She must have picked up a parasite of some sort.

Okay I'm thinking of a Private Practice episode from not to long ago. I hope she is seeing a specialist of some sort now.

oh god that is nasty!! i know you warned me but i just wasn't prepared! i would of freaked out, and then i would of thrown them at the doctors for telling me i was normal......i hope she gets better soon

OMG is saw something like this on either the Discovery Channel or TLC... a man went camping and cooked some fish that he caught earlier that day. He had doubts that the fish wasnt thouroughly cooked but ate it anyway. Weeks later while he was home going #2 he felt something hanging from the area- so he pulled, pulled and pulled and he had several feet of tapeworm hanging from area. He cut it off and went to the emergency room to have the rest romoved from this before the parasite regenerated... GROSS

That poor girl!!!

hmmmmm......The doctor that she was originally going to was a retard, because if someone hasn't gone to the bathroom in a month then how do you tell them that everything is normal?? He obviously didn't follow up with any other testing. Poor girl, hope she gets the proper tx now.

Don't laugh, you can actually buy them. Some girls are actually doing this. They give you 'medicine' to take to kill it after a month, but by that time the worm has already layed eggs.

The eggs can travel to other organs and feed off of your liver, esophagus, and even make their way to your brain.

I have no idea why people would put themselves in this much danger to lose a few pounds.

I hope your coworker's daughter gets the proper medical attention. There is the possibility they have already spread.

That is gross...ew...ew...how did that doctor not realize she had worms in her a$$???!!!!

On rotation I had to watch a wound irrigation...Lets just say someone had a fly lay eggs in the wound and there were lots of smelly slimey creatures squirming out of it...

she prob drank their water or god knwos what. thats aweful!!! pooor thing.

i heard on oprah dr. oz episode how u get worms at least once in ur life or something. i try to tune that out
