NWR - Franklin Square?

NWR - Franklin Square?

FH and I have been house hunting. We currently live in queens together, we have friends in Queens and Long Island. We were looking into houses that would not make either of our commutes bad and still close to Queens not too far out on the island. Any of you girls live in Franklin Square? Thoughts on the area etc? Thanks much!

Its a great neighborhood. I live close by. You can also try Stewart Manor, Lynbrook, even Malverne all of which have their own train stations. Garden City is nice too, a little $$ but nice if you can afford it.

Thanks ladies! Yes we saw a few houses in Lynbrook and Malverne too! FH works in the city so the LIRR is good for him, I work in Westchester so either way I am adding some driving time to my commute but thats ok!

We live in Franklin Square. My FH was born and raised here. I grew up less than a mile away in garden city. Overall, no real complaints. We have unfortunate neighbors, but you can get that ANYWHERE! FM me if you have any specific questions, I'm happy to help!

If you're going to be using the public schools, do your research too. I think houses in Franklin Square can fall into Franklin Square, Valley Stream (not sure which one), or Elmont school districts.

What parts of Lynbrook/Malverne? Fh and I currently live in Lynbrook. My parents (my old house-oh how I miss someone cooking other than me) live in Stewart Manor/Garden City border. I can totally spill the beans about all those areas lol. Nothing terrible though.

School districts are zoned by Sewanahaka High School district, in which your kid will go to FH Carrey HS (not a bad school) or Valley Stream North (i Think?) or West Hempstead HS (I think). Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm Franklin Square is pretty big too. I have so many friends living there.

LOL I know what you mean about the cooking! I forget the exact spot of the houses there. We were debating about a few things in each house in those areas, backyard, kitchen, and # of bathrooms, so these are on the back burner for now.
The Franklin house I am liking the layout and I am in love with the huge walk in closet in the MBR. I asked FH where he would be keeping his stuff
Choices choices, trying to decide to bid or not

Ahhh just bid. Can't kill. Besides, if you like it, and it works for you... go for it!
