Re: NWR: Has anyone ever read 'The Da Vinci Code?'

Fiction, fact-based or whatever...it still made me think. Throughout the whole book I just kept asking myself 'why COULDN'T this have happened' and I found myself saying 'this just makes sense' a lot. So many things seem to be connected and it is hard to accept that it is all coincidence.

Maybe the book IS full of lies and maybe I am a fool for questioning the 'facts' that I was always taught...but then again, the truths you and I are sure that we know were told to us by the Catholic Church. So who is to say that those aren't the lies?

And please don't mistake this post as questioning the Catholic religion..it is the Church that this book made me have a few more issues with. The religion and the Church are two different things to me.

I really enjoyed the book and I would love to read more books like this!

I LOVED IT!!!!!

Read Angels and Demons. It's his first book and introduces Robert Langdon on another adventure. You won't lose anything by reading it second.

Happy Reading!!

I'm going to have to jump on this bandwagon... I'll read it next week!

Uloveit, if you want another book that'll make you think twice about your beliefs, pick up the Left Behind Series. It's a 'religious' read, but the story behind it is amazing! I say 'religious because it can get a little 'preachy' at times, but it's a great book to read, because you immediately put yourself in the characters shoes, and wonder what you'd be doing, and how, and what you should do NOW.

I think I will. I am just so interested now. I am definitely going to read Angels & Demons next and my mom was talking about 'The Rule of Four' because it is also along these lines. So I will just add the Left Behin Seres on my list! Thanks!!

It is a mystery. As the characters follow their journey through the book they give a lot unknown facts about the history of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. I don't want to ruin it for you but it touches a lot on femininity and secret societies that exist. Give it a shot, it was very interesting!
