NWR Haunted houses....

Original post by poisonivy918

not sure if this is where this would go but anyway does anyone go to haunted houses? I love Halloween and can't wait to start going. especially after seeing the Bayville screampark commercials.

I'm starting with headless horseman upstate this weekend for my birthday. which is so awesome and def worth the like 2 hour drive to get there lol.

me and FH's love of Halloween made us have to get married in October.

Ahem! No one is more obsesses than me lol

Bayville is a rip off. The best one ive been to is the gateway playhouse in bellport. Real actors do it and its very theatrical.

The darkside in wading river is good too.

I wanna go to fear in the city. I heard its insane

where is fear in the city? or did you mean it's called fear in nyc? lol

Its in nyc and its different every year like nightmare i believe.

do you mean the haunted house nightmare? that every year has a new theme? like this year they are superstitions or something. last year was vampire. or do you mean it's like nightmare? lol. I've been to nightmare btw. ahh I can't wait until sat.

Fear is a different one in a diff place every year. Ill try to find it.

I went to Terror Behind the Walls last year. It was more creepy and mystical than scary if that makes any sense. Being there knowing stuff happened there back in the day was way creepy.

You also get to sit where they had a common area, it was cold and dreary.. CREEPY!

Eastern State Penetentiary sukked big time! (terror behind the walls)

This is where I want to go but yet have to come across someone else crazy enough to go with me : Haunted House NYC

Mini review from someone last year:
'As you go through the haunted house, you will be escorted, you will be
seated, you will be touched, you will be blindfolded, you will stammer,
you will crawl, and, ultimately, when the Haunted House
finally gets the best of you, if you are like me..., you will run. And I
did run. The last stretch, my heart pounded, and my palms were
sweating, and I was laughing at myself for actually being so scared. Of
a play. Of a 15-minute, interactive play on 11th Avenue.'

Edited to add the rules:
1. STAY ON THE MARKED PATH AT ALL TIMES.

2. YOU WILL BE PROMPTED TO DO CERTAIN ACTIONS, (i.e. 'sit down', 'stop', 'move forward')
PLEASE DO EXACTLY AS YOU'RE TOLD. THIS IS FOR YOUR SAFETY.
IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS - YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

3. DO NOT EVER TOUCH THE ACTORS.

4. DO NOT EVER TOUCH THE WALLS.

5. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SPEAKING ALLOWED INSIDE.
YOU CAN, HOWEVER, SCREAM AS LOUD AS YOU'D LIKE.

6. YOU MUST WEAR A PROTECTIVE MASK AND CARRY A FLASHLIGHT AT ALL TIMES.
(we will provide both of these items for you. please do not bring your own.)

7. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO REMOVE YOUR SHOES AND SOCKS. PLEASE BE PREPARED TO DO SO.

8. YOU MUST WALK TRHOUGH ALONE.

I loveeeee haunted houses omgg.. I have to one every year for the past 4 yearss.. I have been to Field of Screams in PA.. which was very worth it.. I wanted to go to Jasons Woods but they werent that close to eachother.. I think it had like 3 themed haunted houses n one longg hay ride that goes very deep into a cornfield.. veryyy creeepy. At one point you hear tha Halloween music n you ride past a screen playing clip from the movie and a guys jumps out dressed as him omgg soo scary...

I went to this place in Deleware.. yes we actually drove to Deleware from Brooklyn, NY lol it was called like 13 floors of horror n was supposed to be a haunted 13 floor hotel.. well we get there n its a huge like kmart parking lot with trailors and it appears to be 13 floors horizontally..sooo disappointing.. they did have bout 7 or 8 small themed houses as well.. it was cute SOOOO not worth the trip

Last year I did terror behind the walls in the old prison.. wasnt really worth it but it was cool because of the history aspect and u get a little creeped out knowing what went on there.. its like single file and soooo many ppl its impossible to be scared

This year I think Im going to someplace in long island.. not sure the name but its in a paintball field and supposedly has a half million budget soo im defff excited.. When i get the detailss ill updateee

U know how sick of a person I am?? I actually thought of that, that ill miss major haunted house time! Lol oh well ill always have the excuse of anniversary weekend! FH doesn't enjoy them as much as I do

I went to headless horseman last yr! we drove 2 hrs to get there lol. this yr we're gonna be in woodstock on sat so it's only 30 mins from the house. I can't wait to go again. I went to 13th gate in Baton rouge, blood manor in nyc, and i've been to bayville before but haven't gone in like 2 yrs. I went to nightmare 2 yrs ago too.

near east wind I think you mean dark side? it's really sad I know where every single house is lol. I've been there too. thats a good place to go during the week it's like $15? or something like that. bayville isn't that scary but it's a fun thing to do. I really wanna go to bates motel, shocktoberfest, jasons something in pa, and terror behind the walls. I have haunted house saved from all over the country. you aren't the only sick person because I thought the same thing lol. I was like damn what weekend are we gonna go to houses in 2012?

next yr i'm hoping instead of august going down south (I always go in aug or oct to seee my mom for my bday) but i'm hoping to go oct next yr and go to house of shock which is the guys from pantera? or whatever. and the mortuary is in new orleans.

so yeah I'm really really obsessed lol. i'm lucky fh is into them. most of my ex's hated them. I like to think all the haunted houses start opening for my bday

I have to go to schmitts however you spell it. in melville! it's the one haunted house I never went to on long island.

I'm OBSESSED as well and I've been to Jason's Wood in PA last year and it was okay. We bought the VIP ticket and went to the front of every single line but I wasn't completely scared.

How's the one in the city? I've heard CRAZY things about that one. There's 1 in Tuxedo, NY (Upstate)that I've gone to and it was TERRIBLE!!!!!!!

How's the headless horseman? Good or Great????

Jason's Woods were okay. I wouldn't make the trip to PA just for this.

My family and I go to Lancaster, PA at least twice a year so we decided to go to Jason's Woods since we were already in PA and it was just okay.

We bought the VIP ticket that brough us to the front of the line but the hayride wasn't scary and the walk through was okay.

I give you ladies kudos. I'm the one that they smell coming a mile away I give off I'm scared as heck scent. No matter what they always come after me. I love going to haunted houses but I could never walk through by myself. I would freeze in my tracks.
