As some of you know, I found out yesturday that I have ovarian cysts. I don't want to sound like a lunitic (sp?), but can this be cancerous???? This is my first experience with them, and I have to admit, my doctor did not do such a good job explaining this stuff to me. Any insight? Personal experiences?
BTW, I went on theknot.com last night and the girls were scaring the $#@! out of me about it.

maybe you should make an appointment with a specialist. I know people that have had them removed and are fine, but I think with stuff like that there is always a chance of cancer. Get it taken care of ASAP and you should be fine.

i'm a PA in ob/gyn... I would call our ob/gyn and ask more questions... what their size.... if their are 1-3 cm they are probable functional cyst and those come and go and won't cuase you any trouble if they're bigger than about 6 cm maybe you should have talk about the risks and benefits of removing them. Maybe you could go on the pill which is used as treatment. People tend to jump to surgery real quick .... but remember there's complications from surgery. SO definitely talk to your ob/gyn and ask questions.
