Re: NWR: Help me pick a cruise!
both are great cruise lines: i've heard great things about both. i personally like the ports better on the princess than the royal-- i would rather be in the carribean and FL than in mexico and FL.
JMO, but either way-- sounds like a nice HM!!!

Re: NWR: Help me pick a cruise!
Not much help - lol I was in Bahamas in March (loved it) and Mexico in April (Puerto Vallarta - loved it too) so I am torn...but the second one is good because it is 6 nights! Then again the locations on the first one sound better! Sorry!

Re: NWR: Help me pick a cruise!
I would say the second cruise, only because it goes more places, then the first one. I don't like Bahamas and I have been there quite a few times. I also don't care for Cozumel. Key west and Grand Caymen are alot of fun,and Grand Cayman water is beautiful. I have been to Costa Maya before, they have a great little shopping area when the boat first pulls in to port. There is a couple of restaurants and a pool. That is pretty much it on that island. We went to the Mayan ruins, I hated it but my FH LOVED!!! it. The private princess island is very realaxing. It is the boats private island. They serve you a barbeque and you pretty much just lay around buy the water. It is great.
Another thing to consider is the boat. I would choose the newer boat of the two. What Princess boat is it, I might of went on it? I have never been on a Royal boat, but I want to go on one. They are usually pretty expensive.

Re: NWR: Help me pick a cruise!
I just got back from a Princess Cruise....Wasn't Really impressed...We Had an oceanview room and our room was SO small that I had to crawl out of the end of the bed at night. The bed was pushed up against the wall... Service was nice...but I had more fun on other cruises. I would love to try Royal next time.

Re: NWR: Help me pick a cruise!
I went on the Royal Caribean cruise for New Years Eve. It left from tampa and went to Costa maya, Belize, Grand Cayman and Cozymel. I was not crazy about the ports. All but one you are left in the middle of the ocean and have to take a small boat to land because of hurrican damage, so just double check that because it was a pain. You have to wait for the boat to come back, etc. I only liked Cozumel. I had a bad experience in Belize and I thought Costa Maya was a huge tourist trap and there was really nothing there, JMO. I would go with the first cruise. Fell free to FM me.
Just double check with the hurricane damage, and the ports they might have built it up since then, I hope.

I think I'm leaning more towards Princess since I've been to Key West and Cozumel before.

neither....stay off the boats....
i'm not a big fan of cruises (tom or the boats) really. which ever you think will be more fun for your mom is my vote....her idea of fun might be more relaxed than yours.

Re: NWR: Help me pick a cruise!
Costa Maya has nothing there, except for the Mayan Ruins and that requires a 45 min bus ride to get to (but they are really cool to see!) It's very run down and the cruising industry is trying to build it up as a tourist area.

Re: NWR: Help me pick a cruise!
It really depends on if you have been to any of those places before and what you want to do. If you just want to relax on the beach or do activites.
