NWR-HELP...winery trip

Good Morning ladies. My girlfriends and I are looking to take a trip to the wineries on LI. There will be 6-8 of us.

Do you know any companies (bus or limo) that has these trips?

Or have you ever planned one yourself?

I'm looking for recommendation for limo companies (or bus) and which wineries are your favorites.

TIA!

We went for my friends birthday and just rented a limo to go out there. I don't know of any bus tours but there might be? I like Gallucio, Peconic bay, Puglise, and Pelligrini.
(Hope I spelled them right!)
Have fun. I love to go out there with a picnic lunch when they have music on the porches.

I haven't rented a limo to do the tour but I'm sure the east end limo companies have some type of special. Pelligrini is also my favorite. I have a map that I used for OOT guest bags and I would be happy to email to you or you can look on this link...

that was me!!! just get a limo so you can go where you want.

consult the maps online so that you can best plan your strategy. my plan is always to go to the furtherest one FIRST. the furthest we went (which was last week) was to 'The Old Farm'...didn't really like it that much but we bought a bottle.

I'd start at Pindar and work your way down. OR....go up the other road on the north side and then cross over to the south road and go down.

give yourself plenty of time for traffic, etc. you will most likely be in the wineries for 20 minutes to 30 minutes each.

if you are nervous about spending too much $$, take out all the CASH you want to spend. i usually come home with like 15 bottles because we get so excited. you'll buy more at the first few wineries than the last few cause you'll be tired.

some charge you a few bucks to sample, others are free (pellegrini and pindar). as trish said, pack yourself a lunch and eat at one of the places. you can always purchase a glass of wine too.

What limo company did you use?

We just went 2 weeks ago, we ended up driving, it wasn't so bad. We couldn't get a solid head count for a limo. Most companies do vineyards, so call a few companies listed here.

I really liked Peconic Bay and Laurel Lake (thanks to luv2teach3!). I really didn't like Pindar, too big and busy!

One of my favorites is Duck Walk, but it's more south shore...I think, but their Blueberry Port is outrageous!! You can get it in most liquor stores...

I don't remember since it was 3 years ago. Why don't you utilize LIWeddings and post it on Vendors Helping Brides to get some quotes.

I don't know about limos, but as for wineries... Peconic bay is a nice small one but you pay like $2 per flight (not a bad price)
Pindar is great to do in the middle because after you have had a couple you can get cheese and crackers and relax a bit and they have free tastings as well as some of the better wones that are 2-5 per glass. If you buy the wine you tasted though, whatever you spent on the tasting you get off on the bottle!
Raphael is beautiful!! Just go inside at least and look around the store. Their tasting are on the expensive side (like $8 or something?) but if you like red wines, it is worth it! They also have cheese and crackers there!

(BTW Pindar also has an outdoor pavillion if you pack a piicnic cooler for lunch!)

Pellegrini is good, I like some of the gallucio (Sp?) wines, but not all of them. Bedell is okay, osprey is a cute set up and usually has music out back!
Martha Clara has a cute dog on the bottle, but that is about it!

Corey creek has a nice back porch that we took pics at for my cousin's bacheloreete party, the wines were good not great!

I have been there too often! Sorry this is so long. If you have any other questions, FM me!!
