NWR: I need your reviews on Aventura Spa Resort!

DH and I have tentatively booked it for December. Anyone have anything to say about it...the good, bad and the ugly?

well we're going there for part of our honeymoon..we have a timeshare for it and it's considered a 'gold crown' which is the best of the best so i'm hoping its good..

FABULOUS that is all I can say. we stayed there in a package deal for a week for our honeymoon. The staff is amazingly friendly...you cannot step foot on the grounds without someone saying 'Hola!' to you. They are quick with the drinks in the pool and the food is great. We had a great time.

The rooms were always clean and they keep it stocked up with drinks. There is a balcony, a jacuzzi in the room, and a very large shower.

They have a lagoon, no beach, just so you know up front. We were not bothered by this (I don't like the ocean...) but some people prefer the waves and ocean. Also, the lagoon must be the 'European spot' because there were a lot of topless women there - I know that has bothered some people in the past for whatever reason. It did not bother us.

The pools are great - they keep it a nice comfortable temp and there are swim up bars if you would like a drink. There are always wait staff around the pools as well. There is an indoor pool as well near the gym but they keep that water like bathwater...it was too hot for us to go in there.

The weather was great while we were there (late september). Very hot during the day. It only rained twice the whole time we were there and we used the opportunity to eat at those times. By the time lunch was over, it had stopped raining and the sun was out again.

There is a great dance place too - Discoteca I think it was called. We had a ton of fun there almost every night.

BRING BUG SPRAY - I think I was bitten about 40 times (literally....) in the 7 days we were there, mostly at night and just after it had stopped raining. I cannot say this enough...they are annoying.
