So as we know (I think most know anyway) I just got a new job and am looking at cars. Nothing super definite, just want some ideas for future reference. I want to know about your cars! Do you lease, own, what car, why, how's the gas, why'd you get it... etc. Point me in the right direction. FH wants me to get the new Scion... I'm clueless!

Re: NWR: I want to know about your ride!
I currently have a 1992 Ford Explorer..(horrible on gas..and Im not a big fan of Fords)..however, I also had a 1990 Toyota Corolla and it was like the greatest car ever! Great on gas and very reliable, despite its age. So if you are looking for a car I would say stick to Toyotas...they have a great reputation.

I HAD to have a Scion, but trying to find one with everything I wanted was hard to find and I didn't want a brand new one. My FH is a car sales man, he was working at Ford. After my axel went hay wire, he bought me a 2006 Ford Fusion I paid like $15k for it and it gets fantastic gas mileage.

I have a 2007 Nissan Morano SUV that I got in August. I got an SUV bc I work in Westchester and thought I would need it to get through the snow this winter so much for that. We also are thinking about babies in the next 2 or 3 years so we needed something more suited for a family. At first I felt it was a little too big but I'm used to it now. Currently it costs about $40 to fill it up which isn't too bad for an SUV. It's a really nice ride. It has a lot of bells and whistles that I haven't figured out yet BUT I do love my sirius satellite radio!
Oh I almost forgot, my hair stylist has the Scion and he loves it!

I have a 2005 Trailblazer..its a gas guzzler, but i love it. My Aunt works for a huge GM dealer out in Bohemia, so i got a realllly good deal on it. I always lease cars, i like the idea that every 3 years i get a new ride.

Mine is a Honda Accord 04. White. Love it and gas is great... and the fact that it is worth more than I owe on it is great.

I got a Honda Civic too and love it. I got the 2006 model that they completely changed though. Great on gas. When the lease is up we'll probably go for an SUV though... thinking about kids in a few.

We used to have a Murano and I totally miss that truck. It was awesome. We are definitely Nissan people. I currently own a Maxima and an Infiniti G35. The Maxima is awesome on gas and it rides really nice. I have 135,000 miles on it and no major problems with it. It's good in the snow also. Definitely would recommend it.
The Infiniti is a hot little machine but it guzzles gas (not as bad as an SUV but worse than my Max). The Infiniti is REALLY fun to drive, now that I learned how to drive stick LOL but I have heard it is rated the worst car in the snow. It's a rear-wheel car. I have yet to learn about that and I am not looking forward to it!
I have always bought my cars b/c i put a lot of mileage on them so leasing isn't practical plus then I have another asset. A depreciating one but an asset nonetheless. I definitely recommend Nissans and if you are looking to lease or buy, I know they offer really good programs on the Altima. They just redesigned it and it's really nice. Good luck!

I have a 2001 Nissan Sentra... I bought it in 2000 and my battery just died on me TODAY...
The car is OK... i think it would have been a GREAT car if I maintained it.. i NEVER change my oil and do all that kinda stuff... so my cars in pretty crappy condition.
We're looking to buy a mini cooper waaaaaaay after the wedding

Re: NWR: I want to know about your ride!
I just picked up my brand new 2007 Acura TSX on Saturday and I'm completely in love with it. It's got so many fun gadgets...I can actually talk on my phone through my sterio system. I'm a complete Honda loyalist. I started out with an 88 Honda Civic, went to a 2001 Civic, then a 2004 Acura RSX and now I'm on the TSX. Honda makes a great car!!

i had a g35 and if you have another car never drive the g35 in the snow, it is a nightmare... i got stuck on a quarter inch of snow, i hated it in the winter but besides the snow, the car is great

I have a 2005 Huyndai Tuscon. I bought it because I wanted a small SUV. Very good on gas and a great ride.
I used to have a 1988 VW golf, her name was Chewy and she was the best car I have ever owned. 48 miles to the gallon and just wonderful. Had she not left 4 and 5th gear on the NY thruway I would still drive her today.
Miss you Chewy
