NWR: If anyone is interested in a show on TV
Its on now. Its on TLC (ch 52 in Queens)Its a special on the world trade center. It is talking about the construction of the buildings and the collapse.
So if anyone is interested its on now....
I was there on 9/11, and lost a very close friend of the family. I have saved every newspaper article, every book made, and I have taped every special about the buildings. I am very into things about the WTC

Re: NWR: If anyone is interested in a show on TV
My FH actually watched this. He is an ironworker and is very interested in how the buildings were built. It must have been very hard to witness that first hand. I live in the city and work on 28th but was traveling on business when this happened. I left the day before on one of those flights to SF. We were stuck out ther for a week and it was hard being away from my family.

Re: NWR: If anyone is interested in a show on TV
It was hard, but I had my friends, family, and my coworkers to help me.It was a really interesting show. I have been in those buildings so many times and watching the construction and talking about the collapse amazes me.

My FI works at 2 WFC and was down there on that day. He went to mandatory counseling afterwards that his company made them go to. His whole building was destroyed, they were re-routed, and in May of 2002, they finally went back to the offices. He is really scarred.

Our company had counsling as well. My company's headquarters are 3 WFC. Our company lost 11 employees so the CEO felt it was important we had counsling.

I think most companies offered counseling. I work in the benefits dept of my company and we arranged for counseling for a few days. My FH wnt down there to help with the clean up and he said althoguh, all of the pictures on tv were vivid, nothing compared to the real thing.

Re: NWR: If anyone is interested in a show on TV
Yes I was there. The company's headquarters are 3 WFC. My office was actually on Wall Street. (I am no longer with the company) I was running a little late that morning (It was a beautiful day and I remember how i wanted to take my time and get a cup of coffee) and I saw the second plane hit. I ran to my office, made 3 phone calls, and left. I got on the last train out of the city and watched the first tower collapse from the train.I have been to ground zero numerous times and your FH is right, it seems very different then seeing it on tv. its a whole different picture. It was really hard for me to return to my office. We were then moved to NJ and a month later I was layed off.
I have read 2 fantastic books if anyone is interested in reading. One is 'Report from ground zero' by Dennis Smith. Its all stories from firefighters about what they were doing that morning, the ride to the towers, being inside the towers and coming out alive and remembering there brothers lost. If you read this book, dont read it on the train. It will make you cry.
The second book is 'Love Greg and Lauren' by Greg Manning. Its about Lauren Manning who works for Cantor and was burned over 80 percent of her body. She was getting on the elevator in the lobby and was hit by a huge fireball. The book is a diary of emails sent by her husband of her days in the hospital and her ordeal. Very good to read.

All the 9/11 books are extremely fascinating.Michelle W's husband's pic (he's one of NY's bravest) was in one the books. It's an incredible shot of him.

FI's uncle was in the HBO special. He was walking next to Giuliani. His uncle just retired, but he is a Fire Marshal. His uncle walked out of the south tower 2 minutes before it collapsed.Welcome New Vendors
