Okay...so I before I vent about my job situation...I am happy to have a job in this economy and I realize people are in more difficult situations. Totally. I'm just really frustrated with my job situation. I am an assistant in a high school Admissions office and work for an extremely difficult woman who really has no idea how to manage or delegate work. It's getting to the point where I dont know what to do. Last nite was the last straw. Basically they work backwards here and dont tell you until the last minute that they need something done. I stayed late last nite to get it done for a meeting they were having (I have NO problem with that whatsoever.) I walked in this morning and it turned out to be wrong. Meanwhile, my boss had checked the work and said it was fine. I mean I feel like I go above and beyond for this place but nothing is ever good enough. I plan on leaving in August and going back to school full-time for my MSW. I think I just need some advice on how to get through this job untill then. I try and speak up as much as possible but nothing ever seems to help. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

i would just bite the bullet and get through till august, just try not to let anything get to you (easier said than done yes, but will keep you from stressing out over something thats only going to last till august)

i have to agree with the advice above. since you are getting married soon & have to wait for the fall semester to start school, you should stay at this job.
believe me when i say i understand what you are dealing with. i worked for an extremely ungrateful person for 4.5 years. but i knew that with my school schedule i was lucky to have a job.
in the end it will be more important for you to have work experience.

definitely frustrating but you know you wont be there permenantly, you know you did your job and did it well, so just take whatever they give you as construcitve criticism (again easier said than done) and leave it at that

ugh.. welcome to my life. I plan on going back to school in sept too and am just gonna suck it up here till then. I've been here 1 1/2 years.. whats another 5 months.

Im happy someone else feels the same way!! I know I just need to suck it up....it's just getting harder and harder to get up every morning and come to work! What are u going back for to school for?

Been there, done that.
My advice, stick it out until you go back to school. At least that way you have some flexibility to work with. The last thing you want to do is start a new job just to leave in a couple of months.
